Collaboration and Teaming
• What is collaborative teaming and why is it
important?
• A team cannot function if there is not
effective collaboration.
• Likewise…collaboration cannot occur if
there is not a team to collaborate with.
Collaboration
• Collaboration in latin means, “to labor with;
or together.”
• Collaboration is active and relational.
• It is something that is done with others
• At it’s very core is an understanding and
acceptance by all parties, equality,
engagement, shared decision making, and
common goals are represented.
Teaming
• Teaming is an important part of our
society.
• What are the purposes of teams?
• Team dynamics are multipurpose.
• Teams can function independently as
members to achieve one common goal.
