Over 60 year olds to represent Victoria in National Championships.
Following the Agreement between the VMCU Board and VOSCA, Associations are
requested to advise their clubs that players who are 60 years of age by 31 December 2014
this year, are eligible to try out in a Trial Match/es, and be available for Selection in the
Vic Metro Division 1 team.
The National Championships are in Casey and Dandenong areas and held from
November 9 – 13. There are four matches against other States from across Australia, with
34 teams competing in 4 Divisions of Over 60s and a Division of Over 70s cricketers. Cost
per player, covering games, umpires, lunches, Welcome Finger Food Reception, Final sit
down Dinner at Sandown Racecourse etc, will cost $275 per player.
Can you please forward this email with accompanying Nomination Form to Clubs
and any players. We have players such as Graham Yallop, Bob Holland and Geoff Dymock
playing in these Championships which is a high standard of cricket. Division 1 matches are
45 overs each, retire at 40 but can recycle, 8 overs per bowler.
Player nominations need to be certified by an Association & Club Official, and sent
to our Secretary, Joel McGlynn, as above. Two Trial Matches are scheduled for Sunday
September 14 and 21, at this stage at Dendy Park Reserve, with a start arrival time of 10
am sharp.
