2016 NATIONAL CLUB TOURNAMENT - FINALS
RESULTS
The annual National Club Tournament was held on Friday, May 20th and Saturday, May 21st, at the
Olympic Center Sport for Hope. This tournament put an end to the 2015-2016 Club Season, which
started in November 2015 and was played throughout the country.
6 men’s teams and 7 women’s
teams , from various regions of the country, took part in this activity.
Congratulations to the 2016 national champions, UNASMOH, on the girls’ side and BANZAI,
on the men’s side.
It is worth nothing the performance of the following club teams:
a. Unasmoh, combative, resilient, who fought her way and dominated the reigning champions,
Les Tigresses, who fell victim of her recent successes.
b. Magic, who played well throughout the tournament, only to be defeated during the
final championship game by Banzai, comprised of seasoned and experienced players
and who remains undefeated for the past years.
c. The teams from the northern cities of Port Margot and Ouanaminthe, with players
whose average age did not go beyond 19 years. A confirmation that Haitian volleyball is
on the right track and has a good future in front of it.
Also noteworthy was the performance of the refereeing team who showed discipline and increasing
professionalism. Pedro Cedmé was in charge of the refereeing team.

We are sorry that the Minister of Sports did not make it to the closing ceremony, as expected, in spite of
his best efforts. His absence was due to the fact that the final game ended around 10h30PM and to the
difficulties linked to major issues on the road leading to the Center.
This tournament put an end to the 2015-2016 season.
