Magowan for P1-3 children starting on Wednesday 2nd and 9th March from 2:15p.m to 3:00p.m
outside on the Muga. If you wish your child to attend please ensure you let the class teacher
know by dropping them a wee note giving your permission.
Assembly News
The children discussed how Trocaire use our donations to help people around the world who
are in need, they gave superb examples of how money can be used to sanitise water, build
wells, to grow crops to feed their families and to help purchase animals such as cattle and
chickens.
At P1-3 Assembly we were overjoyed to see our European Ballet champion Hannah in P2
show her dance routine. She was a little star and we know she will do so well at the World
Championships next year. Kim McCord in P4 and Cadence Courtney also showed their recent
trophies for Hip Hop, Tia Cunningham had a gold medal for Irish dancing and Eoin Coleman
achieved a gold medal for Gaelic football and Cian Reynolds in P1 for being a Puddle
Jumping Champion at castle Espie. We are so proud of the children for these great
achievements!
Mrs Hassett the Numeracy leader gives the P4-7 children Maths Challenges each month. The
children worked on some of the tasks together, as we are working to develop the children’s
mental skills this year. There was great enthusiasm in the hall with children wanting to share
how they solved the problems. So a huge thanks to Mrs Hassett and all the teachers for
working on the development of these skills with the children. Remember to try and help the
children at home by getting them to explain the processes for solving maths calculations, they
should actually be able to teach the adults new skills and no calculators allowed!
