Class 3 – Summer Term 2016 - Coads Green Primary School

Class 3 Homework Summer 2016
Spy Kids
All Class 3 children are expected to do homework each week. It should take around 2½ - 3 hours a week (which is
around ½ an hour a day). Each week you will need to choose a starter, curry course, main course or a dessert (a
dessert is a real treat so is worth two mains and may take 2 weeks to complete).
Reading is no longer expected as homework it is just expected - daily for at least 20 minutes.
Homework will be set on Wednesdays and handed in on Mondays. Please make every effort to hand in on time to
ensure work is read, appreciated and marked before being handed back.
All work should be completed to the same high standards expected in school: Neatest handwriting and presentation
Completed in pencil unless you are a pen licence holder
Ruler used to draw straight lines
Date and title on every piece of work - underlined neatly using a ruler
All work should look and read as if care and effort has been used
Colouring should be neat and carefully done
Every effort to spell words correctly should have been taken
No felt pens or highlighters unless otherwise specified
There may be times when work can be completed as a presentation. These can be emailed to school or put
on a memory stick and arrive in school on Monday mornings.

Agent Sweet
Choose one activity each week (or 2 weeks) and remember to use the features for the type
of writing you are going to use.
Find out how many Bond cars there have been. What make and model and what special
features does each one have? Don't forget to include facts and figures, pictures of at least some with
explanations of their special features and which do you think is the best and why.
You could upgrade this to Agent Sweet by including a set of Top Trumps or making a model
or designing your own Bond Car with diagrams and explanations of any special features.
***
Find out how to make a periscope for seeing around corners. Explain how to make it by writing
instructions and drawing detailed diagrams.
You could upgrade this to Agent Sweet by also making a working model of your periscope
making sure it looks good too.
***
Imagine you are M - what kit would a spy need to have when they are working in the field. You
can choose the spy - man, woman, boy, girl or animal. Draw a picture of them and show where the
gadgets are hidden.
Design a spy kit for them. Include detailed explanations, pictures and diagrams of what each
gadget is and how or when it should be used and any safety warnings.
***
Devise a code for sending secret messages using symbols, numbers or letters or anything else
you can think of. Don't make it too easy. Write a message in your code.
Design and make a spy board game that includes using your code as part of it. Include all the
pieces and detailed instructions on how to play the game.

Homework Record
Don't forget that one Agent Sweet can be done instead of two Undercover Steaks. Reading
can be independent or reading to someone else (adult or younger child) but must be sustained
for 20 minutes a day for maximum impact.
