TUITION AND FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION INDEXED TUITION LaGrange Academy is dedicated to making its educational experience affordable to as many students as possible. We feel very strongly that attracting a diverse student body is critical to the enrichment of our students as well as being beneficial to the school and larger community. To that end, the school charges a range of tuitions based on each family’s unique financial ability. Tuition Ranges for 2016-2017 Pre-K4: Kindergarten: 1st to 6th Grades: 7th and 8th Grades: 9th to 12th Grades: $3,445 Half Day $5,382 Full Day $4,980 – $6,226 $4,276 – $8,552 $4,327 – $8,655 $4,489 – $8,977 A family paying full tuition does not need to undertake the steps described in the next section and may proceed to the information on the following pages. Indexed Tuition: How It Works 1. Turn in a completed admission application or reenrollment contract to LaGrange Academy. 2. Complete the SSS by NAIS (School & Student Services of the National Association of Independent Schools) application form online and pay the $42.00 processing fee at www.sssbynais.org/parents on NAIS’s secure website. This is an objective and independent third party who keeps all of your financial information 100% confidential. 3. After applying, please mail, fax or drop off the required forms including a completed 1040 tax return and W-2 statement. In cases of divorce, SSS requires that both parents submit the necessary documents in order to provide LaGrange Academy’s Tuition Assistance Committee with a full picture of the family resources. 4. Based on the submitted application, SSS makes a recommendation to the Tuition Assistance Committee. The Committee also takes into consideration our school’s policies and the resources available for returning families as well as new applicant families. 5. Notification of tuition determinations will be mailed to parents. Although decisions about admission and indexed tuition are made at the same time, the two processes are separate. All financial information families provide us will be held in strict confidence and will NOT be shared with anyone outside of the Indexed Tuition Committee. Page 1 of 3 NEW ENROLLMENTS Once you have received an acceptance letter along with an enrollment agreement, please return your signed enrollment agreement along with the Registration fee ($500) within 10 days of the receipt of the letter and agreement. REENROLLMENT The reenrollment deadline for current students is February 26, 2016. The reenrollment registration fee of $500 must accompany the signed reenrollment agreement to reserve the student’s place for the next school year. Given strong demand for space, the Academy may void all reenrollment agreements not received by this deadline. Agreement and registration fees returned on or before February 26 will receive a $100 discount to tuition. Space cannot be guaranteed after February 26, 2016 since the school has an obligation to advise prospective parents and students with regard to acceptance, denial, or wait list status. Some class sections may be full and closed after February 26, 2016, and students who do not reenroll on time may be placed on a wait list. The reenrollment registration fee ($500) is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the student is not placed in a class, or if the family, with the student, moves beyond the service area of LaGrange Academy prior to the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. WHAT DOES TUITION COVER? Tuition includes the cost of textbooks, materials, and routine activities. Lunch is not included. As in the past, parents may expect additional expenses/fees for: Yearbook Individual/Class Pictures Overnight Field Trips School Apparel Individual Music Instruction Social Events SAT/ACT Test(s) Advanced Placement Test(s) Athletic Team Wear AP Class Textbooks and Workbooks Commencement Special Event T-shirts MULTI-CHILD DISCOUNT Families with two enrolled students receive a 5% discount for the 2nd child. Families with three or more enrolled students receive a 10% discount for the 3rd, 4th, etc. PAYMENT SCHEDULE There are three plans for payment of tuition (for the amount due after payment of the enrollment/reenrollment registration fee of $500). 1. A lump sum payment due annually by August 1. 2. Three payments each due by August 1, November 1, and March 1. 3. Ten payments each due by August 1 through June 1 (excluding February 2017, when reenrollment registration fee is due).
