Maximize Your Chapter Pages

Maximize Your Chapter Pages
All Active Minds chapters are required to raise $1,000 per academic year. One of the best tools your chapter has to
meet and exceed this requirement is your Chapter Fundraising Page. Through this page you are able to collect
online donations, track your progress, and even build sub-team pages for other groups, clubs, or organizations to
contribute to your fundraising goal. The amount of customization achievable is limitless, so get creative!
Your chapter’s fundraising page is the primary location for any funds you raise. This page can be customized to
accommodate individual, group, or campaign pages that will feed into your chapter’s page. The suggested uses
below take less than a minute to set up, and feed directly into your $1,000 chapter requirement.
Every dollar you and your chapter raise will fund mental health awareness programming, giving hope, health, and
well-being to students across the country.

Increase Your Visibility
Individual pages for you, your fellow chapter members, and any supporters can be linked to your chapter’s
main fundraising goal. Here are some tips for boosting your fundraising on those pages:

Share your story. To the extent you are comfortable, let your friends, family, and network know why
you’re involved with Active Minds. The people who care about you are likely to support a cause you care
about yourself if they know why you’re involved. Customize away and share your story!

Donate your birthday, graduation day, or holidays. Ask those in your life to celebrate with you by giving
back to Active Minds. Big milestones and holidays are great times to make asks via social media and email.

Create incentives. Donors appreciate being thanked in different ways. Consider creating incentives for
different donation levels: a personal thank you card, a giveaway from your chapter, or an invitation to
your next event. We’ve made a templates for you to use, but tailor them to make sure they fit your voice.
Recruit Others to Maximize Your Reach
Any groups that want to raise funds for your chapter can create a team on your page too! Different groups
can even compete against one another and check their stats on your leaderboard.

Other student organizations. Having other organizations participate in fundraising challenges is a great
way to accomplish your goal and build relationships on campus. Other student organizations can even
make their own customized teams that will filter into your chapter’s page.

Sororities and fraternities. Many Greek organizations have required volunteer hours every semester or
year. Let these organizations know about your events and encourage them to create pages through your
Chapter Fundraising page kit. All the money they raise will go towards your chapter’s fundraising goal.
Build Short-term Campaigns
Having pages for specific purposes, events, or periods of time can be a great way to make fundraising easier.
Customizing your pages with smaller fundraising goals can help you tailor your communications when asking
for support from your network.

Time-of-year pushes. Can you raise $100 in the month of October? How about $50 for finals week?
Maybe $200 for Stress Less Week 2014? Running smaller fundraising pushes, or campaigns, can help you
split up the larger goal for your chapter and making the campaigns time-sensitive gives donors a reason to
act now!
