Introduction City of Glasgow Swim Team (COGST) was formed in 1993 and is managed by a Management Committee from members of the Club. We have around 300 members within the Club starting from as young as 7 years old. The youngest members are in our Junior Foundation squads through to the most experienced members in the Performance Squads. The Club has become one of the mostcompetitive due to the opportunity for all swimmers to excel at District, Regional, National and International settings. We have a unique partnership with Glasgow Life giving us the resources to thrive and opportunities to maximise the potential within our athletes. To assist in the building of the Club I am pleased to introduce our Development Plan. This document has been created as a guide for the Management Committee, Coaches, Staff, Members, Parents and Partners, including Scottish Swimming, to support the implementation of a sustainable, innovative and accountable development pathway. The focus is on 4 strategic outcomes, Environments, Athlete Development, Performance and Coach and Volunteer Development. Each heading has a list of actions associated to specific tasks that will be undertaken by the Club, with the support of all partners. The Club will provide financial investment along with other sources of financial support. Using this framework will help us meet our targets in achieving success and ensure the Club’s growth is maintained I would like to thank Scottish Swimming for their support in creating the Plan and the Management Committee for their continued commitment to the success of the Club. Conclusion 12 mentoring with Senior and Junior Coaches at Club Nights March 2015 The Development plan begins and ends with an evaluation, this not conclusive, progress reports are evidence of success. The final stage in the plan is to measure the outcomes against the objectives and targets. Continuous evaluation helps the Management Committee to focus on modifying or introducing new outcomes to achieve the objectives. This also supports our ongoing partnerships with key stakeholders. The Management Committee would like to take the opportunity to thank all key staff and partners for their support in developing this plan. Special thank you to the Coaching Team, Glasgow Life and Scottish Swimming. City of Glasgow Swim Team Management Committee 13
