1. WhatisthePositiveChangeProject?
AuraCaciaprovidesmeaningfulfinancialtoorganizationscommittedtohelping
womenandgirlsfacingdifficultlifesituationsmaketransformationalimprovements
intheirlives. 2. WhoiseligibletoreceiveaPositiveChangeProjectgrant?
Nonprofit(501(c)(3))tax-exemptorganizationsorgrassrootsgroupsserving
womenandgirlsareencouragedtoapplyforPositiveChangeProjectgrants.
3. WhatarethePositiveChangeProjectsprioritiesinawardinggrants?
Supportingorganizationsthatpartnerwithwomenandgirlswhoareactively
workingtopositivelytransformtheirlivesiscentraltothegoalofthePositive
ChangeProjectGrantsProgramandtothemissionofAuraCacia.Tobesuccessful,
proposedprojectsmustfocusonequippingwomenandgirlswiththeresourcesto
furthertheircommitmenttolivemorepurposefullives.
ToreceivefundingfromthePositiveChangeProject,aprogrammustalignwiththe
followingpriorities:
Organizationalpriorities:
• Providesresourcesandservicesdirectlytowomenandgirlswhoface
substantialbarrierstosustainingtheircommitmenttopositivechange
• Enablesdisadvantagedwomenand/orgirlswhodesirechangetobecomemore
stableandself-sufficient
Programingpriorities:
• Employsstrategiesdesignedtoreinforceawomanorgirl’spositivechangeby
livinghealthfullyandpurposefully
• Reinforcespositiveself-image,self-respectandself-confidenceinwomenand/or
girls
• Createsopportunitiesforwomentodrivecurriculum/programmingthatcanbe
appliedtoprogramdevelopmentandmentoringofotherwomen
4. WhattypesofprojectsareNOTeligibleforfunding?
AuraCaciadoesnotfundprogramsthatarepoliticallymotivatedorthatpromote
religiousactivities.

5. Whatprojectshavereceivedfundinginearlieryears?
OurfirstdonationafterestablishingtheAuraCaciaPositiveChangeProjectwasa
$25,000granttoThistleFarms,asocialenterpriseforwomenwhohavesurvived
prostitution,trafficking,andaddiction.ThistleFarmsprovidesatwo-year
residentialprogramandemploysmorethan50survivors.Thesocialenterprisealso
includesanaturalbathandbodycareline,acafé,artisanstudios,andaglobal
marketplace.ThistleFarmsalsoprovidesoutreachandadvocacyservicestoover
700womenannually,aswellaseducationandtraining.
ThePositiveChangeProjecthelpsfundThistleFarms’two-yearresidentialprogram
for30womeninNashville,Tennessee.Thecomprehensiveprogramisfreeofcharge
toallsurvivorsforthedurationoftheirstayandincludeshousing,mental,physical,
dental,andtherapeuticcareaswellaseducationandjobtrainingatThistleFarms’
socialenterprise.Residentslivewithoutsupervisionandaretrustedtocreatea
supportive,caringcommunityforeachother.
6. HowaregrantapplicationstoAuraCacia’sPositiveChangeProject
reviewed?
AuraCacia’sPositiveChangeProjectGrantReviewPanelcomposedofemployee
volunteerswithrelevantexperienceandexpertisereviewallapplicationsaccording
tothecriteriabelow.TheirrankingsarereportedtothePositiveChangeProject
GrantsCommittee,whichthenevaluatesthetop-rankedproposalsandmakes
fundingrecommendationstotheFrontierCo-opSocialGivingBoard.
Theproposalswillbereviewedusingthefollowingcriteriaalongwiththepriorities
describedabove:
• HowcloselytheprogramalignswiththemissionandvaluesthePositive
ChangeProjectandtheAuraCaciabrand.
• Theextenttowhichtheprogramcanprovidemeasurablechangewithina
population(inclusionofmeasurableoutcomes).
• Theextenttowhichtheprojectfocusesoncreatinglong-termchangefor
womenand/orgirlsasagroupandisstructuredtodoso;
• Evidenceofneedandtheappropriatenessoftheproposedsolutionthatis
basedonavailableresearchandstatistics;especiallydatathatarerelevant
andspecifictotheindividualsyourprojectisdesignedtoserve;
• Theextenttowhichtheproposedbudgetandtimetablearejustifiedand
reasonabletocompletetheproject.
• TheextenttowhichtheprojectmayintegrateAuraCaciaemployeesand
consumers.

Planforevaluatingshort-termandlong-termsuccess:Theproposalshould
