Some of this information may have already have appeared on the League website, but some is being published here for the first time. POSTPONED GAMES The number of postponed games has risen steadily over the past few weeks during the poor weather we have been experiencing, although not all games have been called off because of the weather, County Cup matches and grounds not being available account for some of the postponements. The number of games to be re-arranged is now over 20 with more expected. What this means, is that it is looking almost certain that I will have to utilise either or both Mother’s Day 6th March 2016 and Easter Sunday 27th March 2016 to accommodate the number of games to be rearranged. I will also be using the dates of the Preliminary Rounds of the Divisional Cups to re-arrange fixtures for those clubs who are not drawn in these ties. (See below) I appreciate some clubs have little or no backlog at present but quite a number of others are well behind where they should be at this stage of the season. I will attempt to accommodate clubs needs and views, but that might not always be possible to achieve as the numbers of games to be rescheduled rises. Just a reminder that if you call off a match for none pitch fitness reasons on the day of a game, you do not have the option to re-arrange the game, your opponents will automatically receive the three points and you will have at least one point deducted from your total and you may also be liable to a fine of £30. FA GUIDELINES ON CONCUSSION The FA has recently produced a set of guidelines surrounding the issue of players suffering from Concussion and how to deal with the aftermath of such an injury. Recent high profile deaths from head injuries suffered during sporting events has prompted the guidelines being introduced. The information can be obtained by accessing this link. http://www.eastridingfa.com/news/2015/nov/fa-concussion-guidelines Please take a few minutes to read the information, it might help one of your players in the coming weeks and months. CHARTER STANDARD For the majority of Veterans League sides, the Annual Health Check of your Charter Standard award will open on 1st January and you will have three months to complete the process as in previous years. For Barton Barracudas, South Holderness, and Kinloss you have between now and June 2016 to achieve Charter Standard Status. I will be in touch with these clubs in the New Year to advise you on what you have to do to achieve the standard. DIVISIONAL CUP COMPETITIONS Whilst the Divisional Cup Competitions are some months away from starting, the draws for the Preliminary Rounds have been made and are shown below along with the dates of the other rounds for your information. VETERANS LEAGUE WEBSITE The Veterans League Website www.hullveteransleague.com continues to go from strength to strength as the number of hits it receives on a weekly basis indicates. As you may know, we also have a Twitter account and all information from the website is tweeted, so if you or any of your players, club officials or supporters are on Twitter please ask them to follow @hullvetsleague to receive updates. SPONSORS KIT AWARD At the Veterans League AGM back in June, I announced that our Sponsors Easy Buy Ltd, were offering to provide a brand new kit to one of our teams. A draw took place in September and the lucky winners were Eastrington Village. It has taken them some time to sort out design and size requirements, but just a couple of weeks ago they finally took delivery of it. A photograph of the team resplendent in their new kit will appear on the website early next month. SEASONS GREETINGS May I take this opportunity to wish you and your players, club officials and their families all the very best for Christmas and the New Year on behalf of the Veterans League Committee.
