GP Referral Process
• GP makes decision to refer
– Appropriate for service
– Selects Referral Wizard which is pre-configured
with services and methods

• The e-referral screen is displayed
• Sharing preferences if not previously set will
display

• If patient has already expressed consent no
message will display
• For records where the patient has declined
consent will display message

– Checks the Sharing preferences and prompts user
– If required points to referral form
• Option to E-mail additional information if
required (non-shared records)
– Recording within the patient record
• Discharge summaries received electronically and
processed through the document workflow
