Overview
A Secure Agent is a lightweight program that facilitates secure communication between Informatica Cloud and your
server and runs Informatica Cloud tasks. Be sure to set up at least one Secure Agent before you start to use
Informatica Cloud.
When you set up a Secure Agent on Windows, you download and install the Secure Agent, and then you configure a
login for the Windows Secure Agent service.
1. Install the Secure Agent
Check system requirements, then download the installation wizard and install the Secure Agent.
1.
Be sure that the machine you want to run the Secure Agent meets the following system requirements:

2. Configure a Login for the Windows Secure Agent Service
Configure a network login for the Secure Agent service. A login allows the Secure Agent to access the network with the
privileges and permissions associated with the login.
Configure a login to allow the Secure Agent to access directories to configure and run tasks. When you configure or
run tasks that use Flat File or FTP/SFTP connection types, the Secure Agent might require permissions to read or write
information to related directories.
For example, to browse to a directory to configure a Flat File or FTP/SFTP connection, the Secure Agent login might
require permission to access the directory. Without a Secure Agent login with the appropriate permissions, Informatica
Cloud cannot display the directory in the Browse for Directory dialog box.
1.
From the Windows Control Panel, click Administrative Tools > Services.
2.
Right-click the Informatica Cloud Secure Agent service and click Properties, and then click the Log On tab.
5
3.
6
Select This Account, enter an account and associated password, and then click OK. Be sure to use an
account with the required privileges and permissions for the network security defined for the domain. By
default, the account format is <domain_name>\<user_name>.
4.
In the Services window, restart the Secure Agent service for the changes to take effect.
Next Steps
After you install the Secure Agent, you can perform the following tasks:
•
Edit the Secure Agent name, update Secure Agent configuration properties, and add custom configuration
properties to change or optimize Secure Agent behavior.
•
By default, the Secure Agent is assigned to its own runtime environment. You can rename the runtime
environment, if desired.
