Team Arrival:
Please fill out the team arrival form on page 7 of this packet. Please fax this form
to the attention of Travis McCurdy, Sports Information Director, at 989-837-4484.
Have this form faxed by 2 pm Thursday, November 15.
Team Host:
A team host will be at the front entrance of the Bennett Sports Center when you
arrive. That host will guide each team to their respective locker rooms.
Hotel reservations:
Hotel reservations have been made for teams per below. When contacting the
hotels, please be sure to tell them to cancel any reserved rooms that you will not be
using. There were 13 doubles and 2 singles reserved for each team.
Per GLIAC tournament guidelines - If a participating team does not want to stay at
that assigned hotel, then they are responsible for canceling the rooms and paying any
fees associated with the cancellation.

Uniforms:
Higher seeded team is home team and will wear light colored jerseys. Lower
seeded team is away team and will wear dark colored jerseys.

Parking:
Buses should drop their teams off in the curve in front of the Bennett Center. The
buses can park along the far end of the Bennett Parking lot along the wooded area.

Passes and Credentials:
Each participating team will receive 25 credentials for bench personnel.
Credentials must be worn at all times for admittance into the facility. Players must
wear their passes when they are not playing in a match.
Each visiting team will receive a packet with tournament and local information in
addition to their allotment of passes. SID Travis McCurdy will distribute these
packets to the teams at the beginning of their practice session on Friday. If your
team elects not to practice Friday, please let Travis know, and let him know the
best time for him to distribute packets and passes to your team upon your arrival.
Tournament Programs:
Each team will receive 10 complimentary programs. They will be included in the
information packet you will receive upon arrival at Northwood’s campus.

Bench Assignments:
The lower seeded team in each match will start their matches seated on the right of
the scorer’s table (as you face the court). The higher seeded team will begin the
match by being seated on the left side of scorer’s table, and will be the home team.

- A minimum of 41 minutes pre-match warm-up will occur
- Any additional time up to 60 minutes total will be divided equally between the
two teams, at 60 minutes the regular season GLIAC protocol will be used

Team introductions
Pre-game introductions:
1) GLIAC Sportsmanship Statement
2) National Anthem (performed only before the first match each day)
3) Away team (lower seeded team) will be introduced first

Second-Third Set Break:
There will be a 6-minute promotions break between the second and third set of
each match.
Team Seating:
Teams will have an assigned area to sit in the bleachers when they are not
competing. Non-competing teams can sit in the bleachers behind the team bench
area. Players must wear their passes at all times when not involved in playing in a
match.

Training Room:
A Northwood University staff athletic trainer will be present throughout the tournament.
The training room will be open two hours prior to the start of competition each day. If
teams have specific requests from the athletic training room, please contact either John
Rogers or Kate Dornbos by 12 PM Friday November 16.
Please notify either John or Kate if your team will not be traveling with an athletic trainer.
We will be happy to assist your team with treatments and taping if your team provides
supplies and a written note from your sports medicine staff.
Towels:
Towels will not be provided for visiting teams.
Tickets:
No passes, other than GLIAC passes, will be accepted for the tournament. The
athletic directors from each participating school can designate five people they
wish to have on a pass list. That list can be filled out on the team information page
located at the end of this packet.

Bands:
All bands traveling to the tournament are entitled to 15 complimentary tickets to
any match their team is involved in. Bands will be seated in the south bleachers,
opposite from the wall-mounted scoreboard in the arena. All artificial noisemakers
are banned from the arena during tournament competition. The band cannot play
while the match is in progress.
Cheerleaders:
Each team is allowed to bring 12 cheerleaders for any match they’re involved in.
They will receive 12 complimentary tickets for any match their team is involved
in. They must arrive to the arena in uniform and will not be provided with a locker
room.
Hospitality Room:
A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, media and tournament
personnel. The Fabiano Lounge will act as the hospitality room at this weekend’s
tournament. The lounge is located upstairs in the Bennett Center. Post-game
statistics will be available in this room, and complimentary food and beverages
will be provided.

Video:
Only team-affiliated personnel are permitted to videotape any of their own
tournament matches. Coaches can download game video onto jump drives after the
conclusion of their matches, if they desire. Northwood University will film all
matches, and will provide all matches on Hudl.
Media Requests:
Please direct all media requests to Travis McCurdy, sports information director, at
989-837-4239. Any team wishing to broadcast the matches via radio will be
stationed at the scorer’s table in the arena. Media credentials can be collected from
the arena ticket window starting one hour before each match. Travis’s office will
be available to media members or traveling SIDs after each match.
Radio Policies:
Institutions involved in the tournament may broadcast their match(s) for free,
whether using an institutional or commercial radio station. Radio
stations/personnel should notify the conference and host SID at least 24 hours in
advance of the broadcast
Video streaming:
Northwood will supply video streaming of the semifinal and finals and a pay-perview basis through America One.
Postgame Interviews:
A 10-minute cooling off period will be permitted for each team in the tournament
before postgame interviews are conducted. Following the first semi-final match,
interviews will be conducted after the awards ceremony. The interview room will
be the Gerace Auditorium located at the far end of the hallway in the Bennett
Center. The losing coach (and up to two players if requested) will be interviewed
first, followed by the winning coach (and up to two players if requested). After the
conclusion of the championship match, the winning team is asked to have a
maximum of two players available for postgame interviews, in addition to the head
coach.
All-GLIAC Awards Presentation:
Between Saturday’s semifinal matches, the All-GLIAC Awards will be presented
on the Bennett Center court. If a player from your team is an award recipient,
please have her available to accept her award, regardless if your team wins or loses
the first semifinal match. Kris Hengesbach, Senior Woman Administrator of the
GLIAC, will handle the awards presentation. The ceremony will begin shortly after
the conclusion of the first match.
All-Tournament Team:
After the conclusion of Sunday’s championship match, an All-Tournament Team
will be selected by a committee made up of tournament officials. The top votegetter of the All-Tournament team voting will be named Tournament MVP.
