Choose 1-3 pieces of evidence to demonstrate the impact your actions have had on student learning to meet your goal. Documentation could include video, survey results, performance standard data, anecdotal evidence, work samples, etc. In the weekly staff newsletter, staff was invited to reflect on aspects of our SEL goal, in particular RULER strategies. A significant amount of time was spent in September and October 2015 building a staff charter and in many classes, a class charter. Subsequent staff meeting time was used to discuss the Mood Meter and to revisit our Charter. There was an increase this year in use of a charter and a mood meter in classrooms at our school and thus an increase in common language. However, there is room for growth in developing a common language throughout the school. In regards to professional growth in this area, 3 more classroom teachers completed the district staff development RULER training during afterschool sessions. As well, the Principal and the Student Services department head participated in a district learning team to further explore RULER practices. We have identified a need for more evidence to demonstrate the impact our goal area actions have on students. This will be part of our inquiry in the upcoming year. Backup Documentation School Community Engagement Process How did you engage parents, teachers, students & support staff in developing your APL? How did you share your APL goals with parents, teachers, students & support staff? Staff participated in a June 6th, 2016 Professional Development Collaborative Session on identifying a shared goal for the school. Further discussion and collaboration occurred through email and was summarized at the June 30th staff meeting. Dialogue and intention for this year’s goal were reported out to parents at the June 7th, 2016 PAC meeting and parents were invited to contact the Principal to be a part of further collaboration for developing this goal. Parents were reminded at PAC meeting and New Parent Orientation in May, 2016 that the APL lives on the school website. Backup Documentation Reflection Highlights Where are we now?
