Tournament Guidelines
Tournament Format:
1. 16-team tournament; Double elimination*
a. A team who loses two (2) games will be eliminated
b. The tournament will be composed of two brackets: The winner’s bracket and the loser’s
bracket.
c. The first round winners will proceed to the winner’s bracket while the losers will proceed to
the loser’s bracket.
d. The winner’s bracket is conducted in the same manner as a single-elimination tournament,
except that the losers of each round "drop down" into the loser’s bracket. The losers of
each round from the loser’s bracket will be eliminated from the tournament until one team
remains.
e. Since the team from the winner’s bracket is undefeated, it will have a twice-to-beat
advantage in the Finals.
Tournament Date and Venue:
1. Date: September 3, 2016, Saturday – 8:00am-8:00pm

Each team should be composed of four (4) players. Three on the floor (3) and one (1) substitute.
Each team’s average height should not exceed 5’7.
Former college varsity players may be allowed but will be screened by the committee.
6-footers and above may be allowed but will be screened by the committee.
*Tournament format may change based on the number of teams joining.

Tournament Fee, Payment and Prizes:
1. Tournament Fee: PHP 700.00 per player, inclusive of the following:
a. Two (2) top jerseys c/o Royal MNL (dark and light).
b. Athlete pass/ID tags to all sporting events at the Philippine Fitness & Wellness Expo
c. Certificate of Participation
d. Sponsor freebies and/or loot bags (subject to availability)
2. Payment

Tournament Rules & Guidelines:
1. All games will be played under the 2016 Official FIBA 3x3 rules, unless otherwise specified.
2. Fifteen (15) minutes allotted per game. Five (5) minutes warm-up, Ten (10) minutes game play.
3. Initial possession: Coin flip. The team that wins the coin flip decides whether it takes the ball or
leaves it, in order to get it in a potential overtime.
4. Shot clock: 12 seconds per possession.
5. Scoring: One (1) and Two (2) pointers.
6. First team to reach 21 points or best after 10 minutes wins.
7. Overtime: First team to score two points wins the game.
8. Foul limit
a. Per player: 4 fouls
b. Per team: 7 fouls. Opposition will shoot one (1) free throw on the 7 th foul.
9. Substitutions will only be allowed during dead ball situations.
10. Each team will have one (1) 30-second timeout, to be used during dead ball situations.

Registration Procedure
1. All teams are required to submit the following documents no later than August 23, 2016.
a. Accomplished registration form complete with details.
b. Accomplished and signed waiver forms.
c. Proof of payment worth PHP 700.00 per player.
d. Photocopy or screenshot of all players’ government issued or school ID.

3. All teams will get their tournament jerseys, ID tags, and freebies on September 3, 2016
