2016 High School Girls Basketball Summer League Rules Game rules 32-minute games, running time Clock stops for the last minute of each half unless there is a 20-point lead Pressing is allowed up to a 20-point lead Three minutes will be given for halftime and a minimum of five minutes will be given between games Overtime periods will be three minutes long with the clock stopping the last minute Each team gets two one-minute timeouts per game (no additional timeouts will be given for overtime) Teams are required to bring their own reversible jerseys Team fouls will be recorded, but not personal fouls A forfeit will be given to any team if a minimum of five players are not present 10 minutes after the stated game time All other MSHSL rules apply Participation Rules Players MUST bring a signed waiver of liability with parent signature (if under the age of 18) the first week of games. Players without a signed waiver will not be allowed to participate. There will be no athletic trainer on site. Teams are responsible for bringing their own training supplies. Ice can be made available. Inappropriate language or behavior will not be accepted, and may result in a player or team being removed from the league permanently. Teams must notify Shannon Nelson by 11:59pm on Sunday if they cannot participate that week to avoid a forfeit (text: 218-207-8017, email: [email protected]). Each team must identify a captain (if a coach will not be in attendance) who is responsible for understanding the rules and relaying information to the team. Cell number of team captain and/or coach must be made available prior to the start of league for contact purposes.
