Rob Frijns stated that the new factory will have the latest
technology in welding and cutting machines to have a good
flow of products to be able to produce big quantities and
maintain quality at the same time. Moreover, at the end of
this process line they will put their own painting line.
He pointed out that with that capacity the factory will be
a welcomed player in the market. “As far as I hope and
foresee we will be able to have a pretty big chunk of the
cake, especially in industrial fields which we would like to
concentrate on”, Frijns added.
A new player for Qatar’s
steel sector
With over 50 years of experience and highly skilled
employees within our 3 locations, the Frijns Industrial
Group is about to bring its expertise to Qatar. Frijns is a
Dutch based company that produces, erects and provides
services for industrial constructions.
Rob Frijns, the general manager of Frijns Industrial Group,
picked up the idea to setup a company in the Middle East.
“I have been looking where to establish myself for a few
years now and we chose Qatar as the place to be for our
business. We found a well known and influential partner
in the State of Qatar and we are almost ready to start a
modern production facility north of the capital Doha”, Rob
Frijns said.
He explained that one and a half years ago Frijns Industrial
Group established a cooperation with the Al Faisal Group.
Since then the company has been looking for available
land. “Now we received 20,000 sq.m of land in Sheikh
Faisal bin Kassem Al Thani’s farm at Al Shahaniya and
we will have 50,000 sq.m. of land in Mesaeed industrial
city in the near future”. Rob Frijns already started a LLP
for structural steel in Qatar under the name of Frijns
Structural Steel Middle East. Frijns Structural Steel Middle
East will produce steel for the process industry including
all necessary engineering, manufacturing, painting and
erection.
“The factory in Shahaniyawill definitely start working at
the end of this year, while the Mesaeed factory will take
one more year to start production. In Mesaeed our factory
will be very big and very modern. In Shahaniya factory we
can have a soft start until the other factory is ready”, Rob
Frijns said. He added “We want to get started as soon
as possible because we think the market is ready for our
products. We will bring a lot of our know-how to Qatar
especially in the field of process management” He pointed
out that everybody knows how to manufacture steel, but
it’s very important how to manage this manufacturing
process to optimize quality and capacity and minimize cost
through a good system.
“I have been visiting all GCC countries but in Qatar
the forecasts for the country in the industrial side are
optimistic and I just felt home in Qatar. The company will
be an asset to the structural steel sector in the country
regarding design, efficiency and meeting delivery times”,
he said.
Despite the fact that , the new company will not stand
alone, the percentage of Dutch influence in the new
factory will always be felt, with one goal in mind; to learn
from each other so there will be training courses for the
inexperienced laborers to increase their efficiency.
Frijns Industrial Group has four Business Units; Frijns
Steel Construction for production, conservation, assembly
and maintenance of heavy structural steel for the
(process) industry, Frijns Projects for implementation
and supervision of industrial projects in the role of total
contractor, Frijns Plaatligger Productions for automated
production of composite beams, including Top Hat
Q-beams, SFB, Castellated and Cellular beams, and Frijns
Metaalwerken for lighter constructions from steel as
well as stainless steel and aluminium for industrial and
commercial construction including platforms and stairs.
Industry is the main field where Frijns’s expertise is most
applicable. The company knows the safety and quality
requirements of your plants. Besides the structural steel it
can build, renovate or extend warehouses or production
facilities.
Structural steel is the heart of Frijns Industrial Group. From
heavy, large structures for the chemical or cement industry
to robot support structures in the automotive industry.
Platforms and fences are an integral part of today’ s
industrial facilities. The Frijns Industrial Group is also a
specialist in the design and production of any type of
platform or fence including the supporting structure.

Frijns Steel Construction Venray constructs glass
lift shaft and stairways for VDI in Zevenaar
In cooperation with Absoluut-Scheuten glas BV, Frijns
Venray developed a lift shaft mainly covered with glass and
surrounded with glass stairways and banisters. Because
the ground floor front and back façades fully consist of
glass, the challenge was to develop multiple ingenious
adaptations to realize a transparent appearance for the
lift shaft. The shaft was fully constructed in Venray. It had
a total height of 13 m. The shaft was provided with 2100

renovation in the ODA project Sittard
For Laudy Bouw, Frijns Industrial Group
realized a renovation and new development in the ODA project in Sittard. A total of
100 tons of steel in THQ joists and balcony
support structures will be produced. To
make the ODA project work, a new passage
needed to be created. A complex indoor
support structure was created to enable safe
execution of demolition work. After this, a
23 m. long gantry joist was placed so that
remaining concrete floors could be removed.
The construction of the new service center was done using a
special joist allowing the roof to slope two ways.
