A NEW SEASON BEGINS .
September 29, 2016 the 2016/2017 season of
curling will begin with the Thursday Open
starting us off.
With the summer flying by. We here at the
Club are excited for the year to begin.


Thank you to Brenda & all her volunteers for
signing up. Without our volunteers we could
not operate in the City of Edmonton.
Saturday Morning Open League – The Ottewell
is joining forces with the current Saturday morning
Engineers Curling League. This league will be
open to anyone, any combination of Men’s, Mixed,
Ladies, teams and/or individuals. The league like
all our leagues is designed for the beginner or the
experienced. This league curls 20 games. Give
Rick a call @ the club for more information.
Tuesday Evening Skins / second ½ league –
This league is going to run only 8 games. Starting
in January. This league will be an open league.
Any combination will qualify. All entry fees with the
exception of a small percent will be paid out
weekly. Games will only be 6 ends. This league
will be a great warmup for all teams playing in the
post season skins championship, this is the 2nd
year we are attempting this league.
OTTEWELL RETURNING LEAGUES
Friday Mixed – Start Date Sept 30th
Draw Times - 6:30 & 9pm. Most games will go on
the early draw. Help us by spreading the word. Refer
a contact to Rick and if a new team enters from your
referral an exciting incentive is in place. Ask Rick for
details
Thursday Men’s / Open– Start Date Sept 29th
Draw Times – 6:15 & 8:30pm. The league is for new
or experienced teams and/or individuals. This year
we will take any combination of Men, Mixed, Ladies,
any experience level will fit the format of this league.
Open Leagues –
Sunday mornings (10am) – Start Date Oct 16th
Monday nights (6:45pm), - Start Date Oct 17th
Tuesday Ladies League – Start Date Oct 4th
Ladies curl early only – 6:30pm every Tuesday.
Social League designed for the beginner or
experienced recreational curler

Concession Update 2016
A new era will begin this season. The Ottewell congratulates
Mariette & Keith Bell on their retirement.
We Welcome Niall & Susan Wolfram along with their kids Elin &
Niall
Niall was born here in Edmonton and has over 20 years of cooking
experience.
Susan was born and raised in Liverpool England with years of
restaurant experience.
The season will start with the concession opening for the
Thursday & Friday evening leagues.
We ask for the members to welcome
Niall & his family by
supporting their efforts & trying some goodies.
No outside foods will be permitted in
the club when the concession is open.
We offer Full Catering – You can one stop shop your event at the Ottewell

Curlers curling in 2 leagues or more will pay
only $220 for the league that is of equal or
lower value. (This applies only to evening
Ottewell house leagues)

5th player rule – there will be a $100 charge
to add a 5th player to the roster. The player
will be entitled to play any position. If no
payment made to add a 5th – player will
qualify under the spare rules. To qualify for
Post Season – paid 5th member must have
played a minimum of 6 games.

Purchase a Share prior to your first game
and receive a 10% discount on fees.
Shareholder discount does not apply to the
following house leagues – Tuesday Ladies,
Sunday Open, Saturday Open, any other
leagues that is discounted already or not a
Ottewell house league. This will also not
apply to a qualified $220 league.

To secure your spot a deposit of 1 curling
fee must be received at the club no later
than September 10th. After September
10th all leagues will be a first come first
serve basis.

We ask that ½ of your teams fees be paid
prior to your first game. The balance is due
by Novermber 1rst.

Ottewell will be hosting The Sterling 2 person team
Bonspiels on a few occasions this season. Stay tuned – 
