See a rule in here that you disagree with? Change it! This booklet is yours to tweak. Maybe you have a different idea about how Humans turn into Zombies. Or perhaps you and your friends like playing Last Man Standing with Warp cards in the deck, for the thrill of it all! Do what you want, and if it works, let us know. We’re as addicted to social media as everyone else, and we’re always listening! 1 FREE FOR ALL! The following gametypes are variations on the classic version of Mr. Game!, where there are no teams and everyone is out for themselves. May the best player win! LAST MAN STANDING TRY NOT TO DIE 1. Everyone begins on one of the four spaces in the center of the board. 2. Landing on or being moved to any number space besides the goal kills you. 3. Killed players are removed from play. 4. The goal is a safe zone. 5. The game ends when only one player is still alive. Optional: Remove the Warp card from the deck. Optional: Killed players become ghosts - ethereal creatures who haunt the living in pursuit of vengeance. Ghosts can still play, but they cannot win, and they may only roll a single die for any and all dice rolls. Optional: Players have one life when the game begins. Landing on the goal gives you a life and sends you back to the center of the board. Players die when they run out of lives. RAT RACE START YOUR ENGINES 1. Everyone begins on one of the four spaces in the center of the board. 2. Any space with a number is a goal. 3. Remove the (4) Goal Switch cards from the deck. Optional: Remove the Warp card from the deck. 2 TEAMS! The following gametypes allow you to join forces with your friends against the mighty onslaught of your other friends! Suddenly, there’s a lot more to Mr. Game! than trying to be a jerk to everyone else... MR. TEAMS SHORT AND SWEET 1. All players pick a piece. 2. Divide yourselves up into teams. You can do two teams, three teams - however many teams you think works for the amount of people playing. 3. The game ends when a team has every single one of their pieces on a goal at the exact same time. Optional: Mr. Game sits out of the game so he/she can stay impartial... or not! MR. ZOMBIES! GRITTY AND REALISTIC 1. There are two teams - Humans and Zombies. 2. Pick a random player (or multiple players) to start as Zombies. 3. All Humans start at 1. 4. Zombies start at the center of the board. 5. The goal is 4. 6. Whenever a Zombie lands on or is moved to a space with a Human on it, that Human becomes a Zombie. 7. Zombies win when every player on the board is a Zombie. 8. Humans are trying to get to the goal to escape. When a Human gets to the goal, they safely leave the game. 3 NOT HAPPENING! WE’VE ONLY DONE THIS ONCE 1. Four players must enlist in Team Bravery - a group that wins the game when each person from their team is on a space representing the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. 2. The remaining players are on the Assassin Squad, a group that wins the game when all members of Team Bravery are incapacitated, trapped, banished, or otherwise unable to continue playing - all at the same time. This game type requires at least 5 players. VARIATIONS! Add just one of these rules to the game to make it absolutely insane! MR. DEMOCRACY! - Beautiful in theory. Terrible in practice. There is no Mr. Game. When a decision must be made by Mr. Game, all players must submit proposals to the group and then vote on the outcome. DAYS GONE BY - Live with your mistakes. Play the game normally. When the game ends and a new game is started, keep all Tiles on the board where they are and leave all Powerups and unused Badges with the players who had them. Do not reshuffle either deck. Play again and repeat! LAND MINES - Surprises at every turn! When the game begins, take each Tile in the Tile deck and place them on the board face down. When a player lands on an upside-down Tile, they flip it over and activate the effect. HIVE MIND - Obey the voices in your head. All players control a single piece. All Powerups and Badges are still kept by individual players. Powerups only affect the pawn on that player’s turn. Badges may still be played at any time. When the piece reaches a goal, the player whose turn it was at the time wins. MR. GAMES! - Because everyone can be Mr. Game! There is no single Mr. Game. Each player must act as Mr. Game on their own turn. The rulings of every other Mr. Game must be enforced. A Mr. Game cannot override another Mr. Game’s rules. 4 YOUR TURN! We’ve included some questions to get you thinking about ways you can bend the fabric of Mr. Game! even more. How would you answer these questions if you were playing as Mr. Game? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN... ...a player is banished to the null area on the board? Can they ever escape? How? What do they do on their turn? Can they move? How do they move? ...two or more Tiles are stacked on top of each other? Can players pass through them, or do they form a wall? What if a player is stuck on top of a Tile stack? Can they get down from there? How? What happens if they fall? ...multiple people have Actions in their hand at one time? How do all of the effects resolve if they should all technically occur at the exact same time? ...someone wins the game but there are still Actions and Badges that can be played? Do they actually win, or does the game continue until the effects are resolved? What state does the game have to be in for it to really end? ...there is only one Portal Space on the board and somebody lands on it? Do they still move to another Portal Space? How does that happen? ...someone tries to put a Tile under another player? Does that space’s effect happen? What if they try to put the Tile on top of the player instead? ...multiple players are on the same space? Are players allowed to share a space? If not, what happens when multiple players are on the same space at the same time? ...someone tries to put a Tile upside-down? Or on its side? Are there regulations for how Tiles are placed on the board? If not, how do the various effects work within the context of the game? 6 f www.whoismrgame.com facebook.com/whoismrgame @whoismrgame MARGRAVE GAMES © 2013 - 2015 Margrave Games, LLC.
