How to Register to View Entries within the
BRC Global Standards Directory
Anyone wishing to view the Directory – including Certificated Suppliers, Certification Bodies and
Approved Training Providers featured within the Directory – will need to register.
This document is designed to help visitors to the website with their registration and basic navigation
of the Directory.
HOW TO REGISTER
1. Please visit http://www.brcdirectory.com to go to the Directory
2. Click on the word register which is highlighted under item 1 on the home page.
3. This will take you into the section “User Registration”. Here you will be requested to
complete a short online form.
4. Please fill in all fields with an asterisk (*) next to them. These are compulsory to the
registration process.
5. Once this process has been completed, the BRC Online Team will send you an email
specifying a unique username, password and a prompt question.
6. This information will allow you to view entries within the Directory.
Below is an example format of the information you will receive by email from the BRC Online Team:
Username: [email protected]
Password: axo4h32
NB: – the information shown is for demonstration purposes
only.
Prompt Question: Open?
Prompt Answer: Sesame
Don’t worry - we won’t expect you to memorise this initial password. When you log in for the first
time, you can change it to something more meaningful.
LOGGING IN AND LOGGING OUT OF THE DIRECTORY
Once you have received the email from the BRC Online Team, you can log in to the Directory:
1. Visit http://www.brcdirectory.com
2. Please enter your username and password in the fields in the log-in box and click the Logon
button.
3. To log out of the Directory and return the main BRC website, select the logging out button in
the bottom right hand corner in the menu and follow the on screen instructions.
Tip – After you have entered your username and password, tick the remember box to save you time
entering your details in the future.
CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
We advise you to change your initial password t to something that is easier to remember during your
first visit to the Directory. You can change your password by following these steps:
1. Visit http://www.brcdirectory.com
2. Enter your username and password in the log-in box. This will log you in to the Directory
and take you to a home page. This page contains a number of different options – click on the
editing your details link.

3. You will be presented with a pop up box that contains your existing profile and contact
details; you can change these details at any time.
4. In this section, you are given the option to change your password - click change your
password and you’ll be presented with a new pop-up box. Fill in your old password in the
first field and then enter a new password. You will need to enter this twice to verify your
entry.
5. When you are happy with your changes, click Update to complete the changes. The next
time you log on this will be your new password.
Tip – Please note that you cannot amend your email address as this is used as your username and
for verification of your identity. If you do have a requirement to change your email address, please
email us at [email protected]
CHANGING YOUR PROMPT QUESTION AND ANSWER
You can also change your prompt question and answer and this is highly recommended that you do
this on your first visit to the Directory. This is the question that will be asked of you if you forget your
password and need a reminder.
1. To amend your prompt question and answer, click in the editable fields and replace the
entries with something memorable.
2. Once you have finished editing, click on the Update button. Clicking the finish button will
return you to your details.
Q&A’s
Q: How do I get access to the new BRC Global Standards Directory?
A: If we already have your details and you are an existing contact of the BRC with a valid e-mail
address, then we will send you a username and password to your company e-mail account.
Alternatively, you can register by visiting the site (see “How To Register”).
Q: I have forgotten my password. What do I do?
A: Visit http://www.brcdirectory.com and choose the Click here for a password reminder link. You
will be prompted with your reminder question and you should enter your answer. On correct entry of
this, a reminder of your password will be sent to your corporate e-mail address. If you experience
