EHS Baseball Booster Club Meeting Minutes:
January 9, 2017 at 7:00 PM (Emmaus High School, Rm 353)
Present: Coach Mike Mihalik, Gayle Cichocki, Dawn Lynch, Linda Gery, Karen Schichtl, Allison Moxey, Joe
Petrizzi, Melissa Shaner, David Hahn, Staci Foley and Chris Foley
Secretary Report (Linda Gery):
November meeting minutes were distributed. Motion to approve by Staci, seconded by Karen. Minutes
approved.
Treasurer’s Report (Dawn Lynch):
Reported that we have $1,023.70 food card profit so far. Also, the insurance was paid today.
Web Coordinator (Karen Schichtl):
Nothing to report.
OLD BUSINESS
 Insurance renewal – Renewed at the same terms/price
 Weis/Giant gift cards (Staci Foley) – Info will be added to the letter campaign
NEW BUSINESS
 Shave for the Brave basket – Each EHS team was asked if they could provide a basket for the raffle
(March 24th). Allison checked if a baseball themed basket would be ok and we are good to go. Ideas
were suggested; a SignUp Genius link will be distributed to the baseball families to gather donations.
 Review calendar – The game schedule is available online; a few dates were discussed:
o April 10th, Coca-Cola Park – Game vs Whitehall at 4:30 PM
o April 20th, Senior Night – Coach will try to have the game vs East Stroudsburg South pushed
back to 4:30 PM. It is early in the season, but a better chance to get all seniors playing. The
evening will start with senior intro with parents; game followed by pizza and cake. Dawn will
help with planning.
o April 24th, Mentor Night – Game vs Parkland; coach will check with Mr. Ramella to see if we can
get permission to have a night game.
o May 1st, Sponsor Night – Game vs Easton; night??
o May 5th, PROM CONFLICT – Game vs Nazareth; conflicts with senior prom. Coach will check
with Mr. Ramella to have the date changed.
o Away game food – 3 games confirmed: Reading, Blue Mountain and Pleasant Valley.
 Team Dinners – 2 dinners will be planned; dates/locations TBA
 Open Committee Chair Positions – Still need help with: Elections & Mentor Night. Start talking to
younger player families to get volunteers.
 Banquet (Allison Moxey, Liz Lanzone & Karen Schichtl) – June 4th, brunch. Bear Creek has the date
available, 11 AM-1 PM; $25/person? (includes room costs). Liz is waiting to hear back from Alburtis
Tavern about the food. Other suggestions mentioned were Muhlenburg or DeSales.
 Winter Clothing Order – Coach will be sending info out soon about optional order for spikes, turf
shoes, batting jacket, hoodie and polo shirt. January 30th deadline. Orders can be placed online.
Coach’s Report (Mike Mihalik):
 Game Schedule – There could still be some changes. South Lehigh and Hazelton scrimmages are set.
 Spring Trip – Delaware did not work out. Coach has some ideas in the works and will release info as
soon as details are worked out and confirmed.
 Batting Cage – Still a go, but the time of year is in question.
 Winter Lifting – Next week a detailed schedule will be sent out. Still working on getting all 60 kids
equal time. Pitchers will be transitioning to high school mounds.
 JV Coaches – 2 new JV coaches have been acquired for the upcoming season.
A motion to adjourn was made by Gayle, seconded by Dawn.
