Amstelveense Rugby Club Code of Conduct 2017 versie 12-05-2011 (EvdH) Amstelveense Rugby Club Code of Conduct 1. Introduction Norms and values are very important to the game of rugby. The Amstelveense Rugby Club (hereafter ARC) wants to contribute to the awareness and application of our Code of Conduct amongst players and coaching staff, supporters, parents and guardians. ARC is a meeting place for all those who love the game of rugby, and that calls for crystal-clear guidelines that are lived and breathed by the Board and the various club subcommittees. Senior members, coaching staff, team managers, match officials, supporters, volunteers and – of course – the parents / guardians of our youth players have an important responsibility to promote adherence to and seek compliance with the Code of Conduct of the Amstelveense Rugby Club. 2. General This Code of Conduct applies to all members of and visitors to the Amstelveense Rugby Club. Objective ARC wants to ensure that it does what it can to enable club members and youth players to enjoy the game of rugby. Pride, passion and pleasure are the key components of this effort. The intention is to ensure that players can play rugby according to their level of skill and enthusiasm. By developing the quality of rugby at - and the sense of loyalty towards - the club we want all involved to feel at home at the Amstelveense Rugby Club, a club to be proud of! 3. General rules of engagement ARC requires attention to the norms and values before, during and after every rugby activity on and off the pitch. We have listed below our rules of engagement that apply both to the field of play and to our other club facilities. What is our point of departure? Rugby is a team sport led by the referee, played with your team mates and played against the opposition. Never has a game of rugby been won (or lost) without the interaction of all three components. This implies that: We play rugby with each other, with our team mates but also with the opposition. We behave in a sportsmanlike fashion, even if others might not do so. We respect the decisions of the match officials, even if we might not agree with them. We are humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Rugby is a sport for everybody, not only for those who distinguish themselves on the field of play. In a team sport, the player plays for the team and the team plays for its players. Rugby is Fun, Fair & Forever. On and around our facilities Our and facilities are for the use of us all and need to be kept tidy and presentable. Treat them as you would your home bear the following points in mind: Please return glass and plastic glasses to the bar after use. Glasses are not permitted on the terrace or pitchside. Please respond positively to the bartender’s request for help in returning glasses and plastic. Please do not cross the pitch but walk around it to get to the other side or end.
