2015 Summer - D2 League Dr Pepper StarCenter Facilities Farmers Branch, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, Richardson April 15, 2015 – Summer D2 League Registration Begins June 5, 2015 – Summer D2 League Begins September 11, 2015 – Summer D2 League Begins LEAGUE FORMAT 14 Weeks, 5 on 5 Hockey $300.00 per Player; Individual Registration 1 Hour Game Slots Teams must have 14 paid players and a maximum of 20 players. Dr Pepper StarCenters reserve the right to combine partial teams or assign free agents to a Team to reach the minimum player requirement. Teams will be permitted to add Subs to their teams for $0.00, once the Team has reached the 14-paid player minimum. These Subs will be added to Teams by the DPSC Facility General Manager or Hockey Program Manager. On-line Stats & Standings via Hockey Shift Leagues will be regionalized in some scenarios; teams will play other facilities as follows: o Frisco & McKinney o Plano & Richardson o Farmers Branch Teams will play only at the Farmers Branch Facility GAME FORMAT 3-minute warm up Each period will be thirteen (13) minutes in length Run time occurs when: o 6 goal or larger lead in the 3rd period o 15 penalties occur during the game regardless of period No game shall end in a tie. If the game remains tied at the end of regulation, then a 3-man shootout will determine the winner. If the game remains tied after each team has had 3 shots then the shootout will revert to sudden death with each team having an equal number of shots. No player who was serving a penalty at the end of overtime may participate in the shootout. In any one shootout all players, except goaltenders, must shoot once before a player shoots for a second time. USA HOCKEY INSURANCE All players are required to register online with USA Hockey – by going to www.usahockey.com A current USAH registration will be required to register on-line with the SSHL. Players not registered with USA Hockey will not be allowed to participate in the league. USA Hockey has initiated an online registration process for players. As a part of this new process every SSHL player is required to go online to register with USA Hockey. This registration will enable the USA Hockey insurance and many other benefits. The registration process is a requirement for each player within the Senior Stars Hockey League. Any player not registered with USA Hockey can’t participate in the league. There is an additional fee that must be paid directly to USA Hockey at the time you register. All players, including coordinators, subs, goalies, and each player on the roster must register online with USA Hockey. SSHL PHOTO ID’S Every player participating in the SSHL will require photo ID card for the purpose of identification. Once the team has been finalized, players may get their cards by bringing proof of League AND USAH registration to the Dr Pepper StarCenter’s Front Desk. Cards can be made at the Front Desk of every DPSC location. All Players participating in the Senior Stars Hockey League (SSHL) will be REQUIRED to bring their VIP Card to each game. This card will determine each player’s eligibility and registration in the SSHL. All players will be required to obtain a new SSHL ID Card for the 2014-15 season. Cards from previous seasons will not be valid for play. TEAM ASSIGNMENT Players can’t play on two (2) teams at the same level. Players may play in 2 leagues but it can’t be in more than 1 level apart. For example a player can’t play in the C League and the D2-League but he can play in D2 League and the D League. Players cannot participate in the I-League and D2 League at the same time. The DPSC reserves the right to move any player deemed to be too skilled for a particular league based on the judgment of the DPSC Hockey Staff. ROSTERS Teams must have a minimum of 15 paid players on the official roster, and the Team’s roster will be frozen when the roster reaches 20 players, and no further changes will be allowed. Teams are only allowed to dress a maximum of 20 players, including goalies, for a single game. All requests for roster additions require a 72-hour notice and a registration form, waiver & USA Hockey insurance form must be submitted before the player can be added. Teams will be responsible for completing a line-up sheet to be submitted to the scorekeeper prior to each game. This is imperative to keep accurate stats for D2 Players. PAYMENTS It is each individual player’s responsibility to register through the StarCenter’s MaxGalaxy registration system. Each individual will need to create an account and register themselves to his/her League in the appropriate rink. Players must be registered with USA Hockey and have their membership number before MaxGalaxy will allow a player to register within a League and be added to a roster. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact the Hockey Programs Manager at your local DPSC. RULES It is each player’s responsibility to know the rules. The players on each team will receive a copy of the SSHL Rules and Regulations packet prior to the start of the season. We will also have copies of the SSHL Rules and Regulations at the StarCenter’s Front Desk and posted online. All SSHL Leagues at all Dr Pepper StarCenters will follow the same rules.
