Tuesday Night Women’s League Playing Rules
(Revised April 2017)
1. Entry Fees/Dues:
a. League dues of $30.00 per player covers weekly and position prizes. Dues must be paid to the Treasurer by
the third week of play. If more money is needed a collection will be taken.
b. A fee of $5.00 per team covers the league website. This fee is paid to the Secretary. (Added 2017)
2. Optional Games: Participation is optional. Substitute players are eligible.
a. Ring Scores: for the year at a cost of $5.00 per player.
b. Skins Game: each week at a cost of $1.00 per player.
c. Low Net Game: each week at a cost of $1.00 per player.
d. 50/50 Drawing: each week at a cost of $1.00 per ticket, 50% supplements the banquet.
e. Weekly Prizes: no cost
3. Membership/Restrictions: The following rules and restrictions apply:

No one under 18 will be allowed to play.
League will be limited to a maximum of 24 teams. (Added 2017)
Team openings will be filled based on order that dues are paid. (Added 2017)
Season will start the first week of May and consist of sixteen scheduled matches plus one charity
tournament. Matches will not be scheduled on July 4th. (Added 2017)
e. One member of each team will be selected as the captain and primary contact. (Added 2017)
4. USGA rules will apply, except as modified by local or league rules.
5. Out of Bounds: Any out of bounds is stroke & distance.

6. Fluffing: Fluffing the ball (in the fairway only) must be done with a club. You may roll your ball away from rocks
and/or roots on the back side.
7. Free Lifts: All hoses, cart paths, tire tracks, rocks (in the fairway), ropes (when they interfere with your swing), trees
under 2 club lengths tall, bee’s nests, and ground under repair.
8. Mounds: Choice of:
a. play the ball where it lies with no penalty,
b. move ball away from rocks on the mound with no penalty,
c. move the ball off the mound, back in the line of flight, with 1 stroke penalty.
9. Hazards: (any pond, creek or ditch) drop a ball and take a 1 stroke penalty
10. Lost Ball: 1 stroke penalty. If a ball is lost in the fairway or the rough and an opponent verifies it, a ball may be
dropped at the approximate spot without penalty.
11. Whiffs: count as 1 stroke.
12. Handicaps:
a. For the first three weeks of play, a handicap is looked-up based on score for that night.
b. A handicap will be established after 3 games have been played.
c. Handicaps will be figured at 80% of the previous 5 weeks, with a maximum of 25 strokes.
d. Low handicap player of one team plays the low handicap player of the other team.
e. The order for handicap holes is the same as they appear on the scorecard.
13. Points:

Each match is worth a total of 12 points.
Low net score = 1 point on each of the nine holes. (No zeros are permitted on a hole.)
Most holes won = 1 point.
Low total net score = 2 points.
In the case of a tie, points will be equally divided.
14. Teeing Times: Tee time is between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. (Revised 2017) All four players must be in line waiting to
tee off or allow a full foursome to tee off ahead of them.
15. Forfeits:
a. An opponent not present to tee off by end of tee time will forfeit the match.
b. 9 points will be awarded to the opposing player or a total of 18 points will be awarded to the opposing
team.
c. If a player picks up their ball prior to completion of a hole, the entire match is forfeited.
16. Jumping Holes: When the clubhouse gives permission to jump start play, you are to leave two free holes open from
the beginning of the league. If someone in your foursome is walking, you are not permitted to jump but must start
from the beginning hole. (Added 2011)
17. Make-ups:
a. All matches will be played on the scheduled date or made-up within 10 days.
b. No matching cards, unless approved by Rules Committee.
c. Teams must make every attempt to play the side of the originally scheduled match. Otherwise, the match
may be played on the opposite side.
d. Each player of each team is responsible for scheduling a make-up match or arranging for a sub if they are
unable to play. (Revised 2007)
18. Rain-outs: The league president, or vice president in her absence, will make the decision to call a rain-out and will
contact the clubhouse.
a. Each team will be responsible for calling the clubhouse to find out the status of play.
b. One rain-out date will be scheduled at the end of the season. Subsequent rain-outs will NOT be rescheduled
and NO POINTS will be awarded for those matches. (Revised 2017)
c. If match is in play and it begins to rain (and rainout is not called), either all holes must be played on the
same day, or if 3 of 4 players decide the weather is too severe, unplayed holes must be completed within 10
days. (Revised 2010)
19. Cancellations: If play is cancelled due to dangerous weather, and a rain-out is not called:
a. matches completed prior to the time of cancellation will not need to be replayed.
b. matches being played at that time must be stopped immediately, rescheduled and unplayed holes
completed within 10 days. (The club has graciously agreed not to charge league members an additional fee
to complete the round). (Revised 2011)
20. Substitutes: Each player must arrange for their own sub.
a. At least one regular team player should try to play in the match.
b. It is suggested that the player pays the greens fees for the sub.
c. Subs are entitled to participate in the weekly games and ring score game.
21. Scorecard: The scorecard returned to the secretary must include:
a. the date of the match being played
b. the full name of any substitute player(s)
c. the signature of each team captain to attest the scores are accurate (Revised 2017)
22. Rules Committee: The Rules Committee will consist of three league members. They will settle:
a. any situations not covered by the rules
b. any exceptions or special circumstances
c. any disagreement about a rule or when a foursome cannot come to an agreement
23. Duties of Officers:
a. President – calls rainouts; calls league meetings; coordinates with club to fill openings.
b. Vice President – makes arrangements for the banquet; calls rain-outs in absence of president.
c. Secretary – responsible for all record keeping. Greens fees paid for by the league.
d. Treasurer – determines if cash or prizes will be awarded. Banquet paid for by the league.
24. Officers and Rules Committee: Positions will be determined at the year-end banquet.
