2009 BUD KOCH POKER RUN INFO
THIS IS NOT A RACE!! The Poker Run is a card game on the move. Each participant in a boat must
register at a starting point and a card is selected from a deck. They then travel to various clubs on the
river and pick a card at each stop to form their Poker Hand. The last stop is Farragut SA where you pick
your final card/cards to form your hand and enjoy a picnic. This is also where the winners will be
announced. As in the past, all money collected from registration ( minus any costs ) is put into the Prize
Money Pool which means all the money goes to the winners! In years past we paid the top 5 hands – this
year we are adding a couple little twists to our Poker Run! Before the run starts you can opt to pay an
extra $5 and be added to the Losers Pool. The player with the lowest hand will win the Losers Pool Prize of
$200. We are also going to donate $1 from each hand played to a Charity / Organization that our DRYL
Delegates will select at our July DRYL Meeting.
So, this year we will be giving you another chance to win and better yet will be donating to a good cause!
Last year we had an amazing turnout of 340 participants which made for a VERY LARGE PRIZE POOL
for the winners ! This event is getting bigger & better each year and that is due to the delegates getting the
word out, and to you as well for spreading the word on how great an event this is! I also think it has grown
to what it is today due to the clubs that volunteer as stops as they ALL go out of their way to make this an
enjoyable event for you.
Last year’s 1st Prize Winning Hand went to Rosie Restuccia of Bordentown YC who walked away with
$2164 !! Bordentown YC has walked away with First Prize 2 years in a row! 4 other winning hands split
$2164 ! Not a bad way to spend a morning / afternoon with friends on the water.
This year’s event will be July 25th and the three starting clubs again will be West End BC, Farragut SA and
Bristol YC.

DRYL Poker Run Rules
!!! THIS IS NOT A RACE !!!




Starting Time is 10:00AM.
All Players MUST BE AT Farragut SA By 3:00 PM or Player May Be Disqualified.
NO ONE Will Be Permitted To Register After 12:00 Noon The Day Of The Poker Run.
All Players MUST Present Score Card to Dealer At Checkpoint /Stop BEFORE Drawing a card.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY DISQUALIFY PLAYER!!
 The Dealer Will Allow Only One Player To Draw A Card At Any Given Time.
 The Dealer Will Enter The Card Value And Suit on Your Play Card And On The Dealers Check
Sheet. Make Sure Both Entries Match And That The Dealer Signed Your Card !
 Altered Play Cards or Play Cards Values That Do Not Match The Dealers Check Sheet WILL
DISQUALIFY PLAYER.
 Top 5 Hands Will Share Net Value Of Pot After Expenses. Best hand Receives 50%, 2nd Receives
25%, 3rd receives 12.5% And 4th & 5th Split The Balance.
 Losers Pool Winner With The Lowest Hand Will Receive $200 If That Player Opted To Enter And
Paid The $5 Entry Fee.
 Draw Poker Rules Apply And In The Event Of A Tie, The Highest Card Drawn At The Starting
Location Will Determine The Winner. Should There Still Be A Tie, Winner Will Be Determined By
The Highest Card Drawn At The Next Stop / Stops Until A Winner Is Determined. Should There
Still Be A Tie After The 5 Stops, Winner Will Be Determined By Cutting Of The Deck With The
Winner Cutting To A Higher Card.
 Extra Card And Losers Pool Can Only Be Purchased At The Start Of Poker Run During
Registration.
 Additional Conditions May Apply As Determined By The Organizing Committee.
 All Check Points / Stops On Your Play Card Must Be Stopped At Before Arriving At Farragut.
 The Order In Which You Stop At Check Points / Stops Is Entirely Up To You, As Long As All
Check Points / Stops Are Stopped At.

respective servants, agents or employees from any claims, damages, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or in

or participation in the Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League POKER RUN event notwithstanding that any such loss or injury may have
arisen by reason of negligence of members of the Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League POKER RUN, its sponsors, organizers and
committee officials or any of their respective agents, servants or employees. The undersigned further agrees to hold the said members of
the Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League POKER RUN, its sponsors, organizers and committee officials harmless and does hereby
indemnify them from any and all liability for personal injury or property damage to third parties which may occur in any manner arising
out of my attendance at or participation in the said Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League POKER RUN event. The undersigned further
acknowledges that the Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League POKER RUN is not a race and that speed shall in no way determine the
