Benefits of Playing Team Being an athlete and part of a team has been an integral part of my entire life. I sometimes walk through the world thinking that everyone knows what “team” means and how it manifests in our lives. As many people may not have had the honor of being part of an orchestra, dramatic performance troupe, or been a member of a sports team, I am sharing a few team concepts I believe can be adopted for any group that works toward a common goal. Most Generous Donors Gave More in 2011 As the stock market resurged last year, so did the charitable giving of the super wealthy. America’s top 50 donors gave a total of $10.4 billion in 2011, up from $3.3 billion the previous year, according to aChronicle study. One big bequest boosted the total significantly; excluding that gift, the philanthropists on The Chronicle’s list of the most generous Americans contributed $4.4 billion. Girl Scouts CEO on Developing Women Leaders Leadership is an important skill in today’s world. I once heard a supply chain executive from Elizabeth Arden tell me he used to always be encouraged when he would receive position applications from young candidates who could clearly articulate their experience and goals.
