GRIZZLIES SOFTBALL
Established 2007
The Best in Columbus
The Coors Light Exile Grizzlies achieved their mission of becoming the
best team in the CLGSA (Columbus Lesbian and Gay Softball Association).
The upper team finished the year 17-3 and with tournament wins in the
GSWS qualifier as well as the end of year league tournament.
7th in the nation.
At the 2012 NAGAAA GSWS the Coors Light Exile Grizzlies posted a record of 9
wins and 3 losses to finish tied for 7th in the 53 team C Division bracked. The
Griz had the best offense in the tournament – averaging 14.5 runs per game.
Competitive in City Leagues.
The Griz finished in fourth place in their City of Columbus Men’s league.
They beat the #3 and #2 team in the Dodge Night playoffs to qualify for
the City of Columbus Champ of Champs for the first time this July.
Coors Light Affiliation
Coors Light has been one of the
biggest sponsors of the NAGAAA
GSWS in recent years. In 2010 we
were able to pick up a sponsorship
from them. That relationship has
continued through 2011 and 2012.
We started a “Grizzly Happy Hour” at
our previous sponsor bar on Friday
nights that resulted in Coors Light
being put on tap and sales of Coors
Light tripling at that location.
We anticipate that our sponsorship
with Coors Light will continue into the
future as we continue to work closely
with a local representative, Nick Bryan,
to assure that Miller/Coors products
are enjoyed by our players, fans and
friends at team events and at our
sponsor bar.

2012 Las Vegas Sin City Shootout
Champions
In January of 2012 we won our
first large, LGBT Tournament.
The Vegas tourney is the largest
LGBT tourney outside of the GSWS.
Our “Farm Teams” – Griz 2.0
In 2011 we started a second team to compete within the second division
of our gay league. We had a lot of players wanting to play with us but
there wasn’t’ enough playing time to go around. Griz 2.0 consists of our
more experienced players that aren’t that interested in traveling to
tournaments anymore and younger players, new to softball, that need
the playing time to develop.
Our “Farm Teams” – The Grizzlettes
Also in 2011 a team consisting of primarily females, the Grizzlettes,
decided to put together a competitive team. We have assisted them by
coaching their team and supporting them chance we can. We’ve also
played in Columbus city league in the co-rec division with teams
consisting of Grizzlies and Grizzlettes.
