February 2012 Updates: Sisters are double the fun! Alma LOVES her new super-small gumboots! Alma is always after Hahgoot, interested in the books she reads and the phenakistoscope she holds... I find many opportunities for the girls to share a game, usually with dolls or Mr Potato we get the best results Cars racing is also very popular Although the girls share a room for playing quite often, Hahgoot actually doesn’t really engage with Alma (or with others). She still parallel plays and is very rigid when another person tries to join her game. She prefers her own games and her own rules, if she can have her way. Alma, on the other hand, is always happy to share a game, a giggle or a spin! But she can keep herself busy for longer now. Spending time with Dad: Barak comes home usually at 7 pm and sometimes gets to join in the night routine. Here you can see him recording “Puff, the magic dragon” with Hahgoot and Peter, paul and Mary – live! (kind of...) Bottom right: the girls wave to dad as he drives to work in the morning. Another good way to play with Dad: Ball games! Barak didn’t think it would happen, but he actually enjoys playing ball with his girls.. After school we have a winding down routine: Hahgoot changes from her uniform, and then the girls sit down to watch TV in two languages while munching on fruit, veggies and other sweet and salty snacks. “Bli Sodot” has been popular with both girls. No wonder they start reading early... Other popular DVDs have been “Yoko, Jakamoko, Toto” and the Dora series. In our next presentation: We have our first guests in our new house!
