Description of HEI
ZNU, founded in 1930, nowadays is one of the most renowned
state classical universities in Ukraine. The structure ofZNU
comprises 13 faculties, 59 chairs, 4 regional branches and a
Research Institute of the National Academy of Sciences. ZNU
provides both full-time and part-time Bachelor and Master programs
for over 12,000 students in 106 specialities, including 2
internationally accredited Master degrees. ZNU trains specialists in
such fields as Humanities, Social Sciences, Political Sciences,
Education, Business Administration, Law, Natural Sciences, IT.
ZNU was a member of beneficiary consortia under TEMPUS
Programme and for the moment several Eramus Mundus and
Erasmus + projects are implemented on ZNU’s basis.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Mobility programme will contribute to intensification of the process of internationalization in ZNU
that corresponds to Strategy of International Activity Development of the university. The Strategy
prescribes integration of outgoing mobility in academic process with covering more than 10% of
university members (students, academic and administrative staff); organization and provision of solid
basis for incoming mobility process with transparent scheme of funding distribution and clear
process of recognition of results; improvement of application of ECTS tools for recognition of mobility
results. Thereby international exchange programme within Erasmus plus Bilateral Agreement will
become a significant step towards integration of our university's community into European education
space.
Having put emphasis on mobility of students university pays special attention to providing
multicultural and international learning environment. One of our most important learning goals is to
accelerate global learning by making international experience possible for all the students.
Participation in international exchange programmes contributes to integration of student community
into European space and discloses for them principles of European society as well as the way of their
implementation in Home Country.
Zaporizhzhya National University has the experience of successful cooperation with European HEIs
within ERASMUS MUNDUS ELECTRA and HUMERIA projects. These are cooperation projects between
higher education institutions in Europe and Eastern Neighbouring countries aiming to stimulate
institutional cooperation and collaboration among partners, decision and policy-makers to enhance
internationalization. The projects provide scholarships to students, researchers and staff in the fields
of Humanities, Education, Research, International Relations and Arts (HUMERIA) and clean
technologies and research related activities (ELECTRA).
Starting from 2014 ZNU signed 6 bilateral agreements within Erasmus+ KA1: Credit Mobility with HEIs
from Romania, Italy, Czech Republic, France, Slovenia and Poland. Within the frame of mentioned
agreements students’ mobility, academic and administrative staff training is carried out.
International Office staff of our university has successful experience in credit mobility management
and provides support to applicants on all the stages of application process: presentation and
informational support; consultations on documents preparation; official translation of their
documents; assistance in recognition of results upon mobility period termination. All the results
obtained by the participants during their mobility period are fully recognized by our University.
Erasmus Exchange programme will help not only improve personal experience and knowledge of
each participant, but also will contribute to enhancement of academic mobility management in ZNU;
main outcome on the local level is introduction programs and curricula with international focus;
establishing contacts and partnership with European universities; successful realization of National
Strategy of Internationalization of HEI.
