actions data in its XSP v5 platform and XSPrisa
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. Based in Shanghai,
Wind Info is a leading integrated service provider of
financial data, information and software. Wind Info serves
more than 90% of the financial enterprises in the Chinese
market, including securities firms, fund management firms,
insurance companies, banks, and investment firms. Overseas,
Wind Info serves 75% of the Qualified Foreign Institutional
Investors (QFII). By processing the Wind Datafeed Service,
SunGard’s XSP is providing an additional data source, as
well as offering corporate actions automation for customers
leveraging the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect to
invest in Chinese securities.

MANAGING
DIRECTOR,
WIND
INFORMATION
What products does Wind Info offer for
corporate actions?
Zhongyu Zhang: We provide corporate actions in all our
product lines, including institution-oriented Wind Financial
Terminal (WFT) and Datafeed Service, financial advisororiented Wind Financial Consulting (WFC) and multiple
investororiented websites and applications.
Which SunGard solutions are available to
consume Wind corporate actions data?
Harry Rana: SunGard’s entire suite of corporate actions
solutions, whether it is our enterprise or hosted platform,
XSP v5, or our cloud-based SaaS offering, XSPrisa, are able
to accept and process data from Wind Info. This data is
also available to drive risk analytics around corporate
actions via our XSPosure risk dashboard solution. XSPosure
is a new cloud-based solution that provides an intuitive,
dynamic and visual representation of a firm’s corporate
actions risk exposure by gathering information from
multiple sources and presenting a top-down view of
corporate actions within a single application.

What would motivate investors to take up
Wind Info’s corporate actions service?
Why did Wind Info choose to explore an
integrated offering with SunGard’s XSP?
Zhongyu Zhang: Wind Info provides comprehensive
coverage of accurate and timely data to the Chinese
market. Investors fully recognize and trust on the quality
of our data and services.
Zhongyu Zhang: We recognize SunGard’s great branding
and service globally. We are very confident that in working
with SunGard’s XSP, we are combining the strengths and
offerings of two solid organizations to provide our joint
customers with world-class value-added solutions
and services.
Harry Rana: As investors globally look to diversify their
portfolios, exposure to Chinese securities will inevitably
grow. By allowing our customers to process Wind Info’s
corporate actions service, not only is SunGard helping a
growth market reduce risk, we are also processing one
of the leading feeds available for Chinese securities.
How has the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock
Connect affected the demand for
corporate actions data?
Zhongyu Zhang: The Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect,
which launched on 17 November 2014 allowing investors to
trade on both stock markets, is creating huge opportunities
for global investors. We are already seeing more and more
data requests and activity from both domestic and
international investors.
Harry Rana: In addition to increasing trading volumes,
the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect also gives foreign
institutions and individuals an alternative method of entry
into Chinese markets. Hong Kong is a relatively mature
market when it comes to corporate actions types, and this
maturity should also inform Chinese issuers as to potential
corporate actions that can be announced on listed
instruments. An increase in the number of interested parties,
as well as a potential increase in corporate actions volumes
and complexity will lead to an increase in demand for
corporate actions data.
What are Wind Info’s plans on adopting an
industry standard format such as ISO 20022?
Zhongyu Zhang: Wind Info is committed to ongoing
enhancements to our services and adopting industry
standards, including ISO 20022.
How do you think Wind Info’s data processed
via SunGard’s XSP benefits investors or
market participants?
Zhongyu Zhang: Firstly, by integrating Wind Info’s data into
SunGard’s XSP solution suite, more investors, especially
Chinese overseas investors, have access to the most
comprehensive Chinese data. Secondly, this joint offering
provides a cost-effective and simplified solution for existing
and potential customers of SunGard’s XSP because firms
only need to deal with one format and one process.
Harry Rana: SunGard’s XSP is always looking to improve
our corporate actions offering, whether it is via our regular
enhancements in our applications or through the creation
of new tools and services. Most recently, we launched our
XSPosure risk management tool as well as our Corporate
Actions BPaaS offering, which consolidates, cleanses and
scrubs corporate actions announcement data from multiple
vendors and then transmits a single golden record. These new
offerings leverage our expertise in corporate actions and
help our customers automate and manage this increasingly
complex process. By consuming Wind Info’s Datafeed Service,
we are providing our customers with the benefit of automating
the data management and identification of eligible corporate
actions in a key growth market for foreign investment.
