Monday Film Club announces its next offering to start
on Monday 25 January at 1.15 pm
in Miss Seacord’s room E6.
Bring your lunch and we will watch:
“The Blind Side”
The true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American
youngster who is taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white
family who help him fulfil his potential.
At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads
them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.
Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely
different set of challenges to overcome.
As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with
the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an
All-American offensive left tackle.
All Girls S1 - S6
There may be an opportunity to represent Oban High School in a
couple of upcoming football tournaments.
If this interests you please come to a meeting
with Mr McArthur and Mr McCulloch on Monday 25 January
at 1.30 pm in the Games Hall.

New S2 Reading Club
Mondays in the library from 3.40 pm- 4.30 pm
Badminton Club will not be on until 15 February
because of the Prelims in the Games Hall
Traditional Music Session Club - Thursdays at 1.30 pm
in PAD 2
Any pupil who plays a traditional instrument to any standard
can come along and play some tunes!
Friday lunch time football club
 Super 6 - Guess the results of 6 matches for the weekend.
 Also come along and discuss the main issues of the week in
the world of football.
 Starts at 1.15 pm.
Thank you those members of the
Oban High School Animal Welfare Club who before
Christmas raised £25 for Argyll Animal Aid with a cake bake.
The club will meet again next week in E1 on Friday lunchtime.
New members very welcome.
We hope to have some guest speakers this term and we will
plan a sponsored walk to raise money for another charity.
Please come and see Mrs Huddlestone in E1 on a Thursday
or Friday with any other suggestions or ideas.
S3-S5 Pupils - Battlefields Trip
Please note the third payment of £150 is due on
Wednesday 3 February.
Please take your money and payment card to Mrs Binnie in
Room S4.
Gaelic Singing lessons will be starting again shortly.
Any pupils from S1-S6 who are
interested in Gaelic Singing lessons should see Mrs Gage.
RC Flight Club
The club will not be meeting for the next few weeks due to
the games hall being used for the prelim exams.
Flying will restart on Tuesday 16 February.
SCOTLAND VS ENGLAND
Can all pupils going to the Scotland vs England rugby match
in the Six Nations tournament please pay £13 towards the
cost of the bus as soon as possible.
Payment must be made to the PE Department
by Wednesday 3 February at the latest.
Teen Aid
 Teen Aid is a confidential drop in service in Market Street
(beside Kwikfit) for young people to seek advice for any
aspect of their health they are worried about.
 There is usually a doctor and nurse available to talk with you
and offer you support and information.
 No appointments needed – just turn up!

REPEATED NOTICES
USED POSTAGE STAMPS
Could all pupils save their stamps.
These can be sent to help the Guide Dog Association.
The Support Department will collect them
from the office.
Stamps of all kinds should be cut off envelopes with
1 cm border.

Supported Study for National 5/Higher English has begun on
Monday after school between 3.45 - 4.45 pm.
This will take place every other week.
Pupils are welcome to drop in for 5-10 minutes for quick help,
or can stay the whole time.

KIDS’ LIT QUIZ

The Kids’ Lit Quiz is an international competition
that celebrates reading!
You must be aged between 11 – 13 to take part in the
competition.

Volleyball
 Volleyball is on a Thursday 4.00 – 5.30 pm in the
Games Hall.
 There are coaches coming in to help run the club and
anyone is welcome.
