It was proposed and agreed that DHDC should be adopted as a sub group of DHA, and subsequent meetings should
be combined.

PRESENTATION ON “THE SINGLE SYSTEM” BY BARBARA REYNOLDS, WEST DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
A presentation on the Single System was presented to the committee

It was agreed that Devon would have 4 Junior Development Centres (JDC)

Plymouth, Barnstaple, Exeter, South Dartmoor were proposed as the provisional centres


HON. SECRETARY’S REPORT (MJ)

Affiliation letters had been distributed to all clubs

Competition entry forms distributed to all clubs – entries being returned
TREASURER’S REPORT (MK)

Statement to needs to be issued to clubs

Insurance needs to paid

Need to check if this should now cover Sue Hutchings post, therefore should we be including
employers insurance

County entries to west Tournaments needs to actioned

Affiliation entries for 2006/07 is missing some clubs, MJ to send out a reminder to all clubs

Expenses of the senior teams totalled around £1000, it was therefore agreed that we would conitue to support the
senior teams with £1000 parameter
DEVON HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT

JO reported that funding was in place for the role until April.

The post would require funding of £20k a year, these funds would be generated through the JDC/JAC,
community coach fund, external grant

MK was asked what would be the bottom line spend required per year

JO, BR and SH to work on bids for external funding

Committee agreed that post would be funded until April, after which funding would need to be reconsidered

The Devon Hockey Development post would be an employee of DHA in partnership with Active Devon

Male player (Torbay HC - Summer Hockey league) – 16 day penalty imposed.
Regional meeting of CDAs has yet to take place, due in October.

Report for DHA Committee Meeting 18th September 2007

New league sponsor in place and new sponsor “N4 Financial Solutions” keen to look at greater involvement in the
league

League after advertising the position has, after interview process, appointed a marketing officer to help liaise with
sponsors and to try with the help of clubs to promote the league within national, regional and local media.

League asking clubs to register all squad players for Prem. Div 1 teams to avoid situation at the end of last season
with Cardiff, the league champions, being declined entry to EHL. League will, very quickly, be approaching West
Council and the Executive Committee of South Wales Region of the Welsh Hockey Union for approval for an
immediate revision of rules to reflect this.

One Devon club (USHC Plymouth) has withdrawn a league side.

