It’s an all-out frenzy to use up all your cursed ingredients. Be the first to do so and you’ll become the Voodoo Master! For 2 to 6 players, aged 7 years and up. CONTENTS 91 ingredient cards (with ingredients on both sides) 6 legend cards 1 set of playing instructions GETTING STARTED Shuffle the ingredient cards and place 1 ingredient card in the middle of the table, well within everyone’s reach. This will be the “Voodoo pile”. Then, deal out the remaining ingredient cards evenly among the players: 2 players = 45 ingredient cards each 3 players = 30 ingredient cards 4 players = 22 ingredient cards 5 players = 18 ingredient cards 6 players = 15 ingredient cards Each player has his own pile of ingredient cards, and forms his starting hand by drawing 3 ingredient cards from his pile. Each player also takes 1 legend card. Unused ingredient and legend cards are returned to the box. AIM OF THE GAME The first player to play all of his ingredient cards wins the round. The player with the fewest points after 3 rounds of play wins the game. Ingredient cards There are 5 different ingredients (doll, mask, potion, amulet, and top hat), and 5 different colors (red, yellow, green, blue, and purple). All ingredients and colors are listed on the legend cards. Each ingredient card shows only 4 different ingredients and 4 different colors per side. There is always 1 missing ingredient and color on each ingredient card! ORDER OF PLAY The youngest player calls out “Voodoo Mania!” Everyone starts to play at the same time, playing as fast as they can! There are no turns! The players must figure out which ingredient and color is missing from the ingredient card on the top of the Voodoo pile. Once you identify the needed ingredient and color, you have two options: 1. Search your hand for a card that has the missing ingredient of the color that is missing from the Voodoo pile card. You can search both sides of your cards for the missing ingredient! As soon as you find the right combination of ingredient and color, play it on top of the Voodoo pile and announce what it is so everyone can hear you. Then, draw the top card from your own pile and add it to your hand. The game continues without stopping, but now there is a different ingredient card on top of the Voodoo pile—and a new combination of ingredient and color to find! The potion and the color purple are missing from the ingredient card on top of the Voodoo pile. The players search their hands for a purple potion, which Oliver happens to have in his hand. So, he plays his card and calls out “purple potion!” Now everybody needs to look for a green mask. 2. Instead of playing the missing combination of ingredient and color, you can instead play an ingredient card that is also missing the same combination as the ingredient card on top of the Voodoo pile! If you play this card, call out “Voodoo!”. Play immediately stops and everybody lays down their cards. All players, except the one who called out “Voodoo!”, must pull 1 card from the bottom of the Voodoo pile and slide it under their own pile of ingredient cards (starting with the player to the left of the “Voodoo” caller and going clockwise). Once everyone has drawn, the players pick up their hands again. The “Voodoo” caller announces “Voodoo Mania!”, and the game continues. (To see visual examples of game play, visit www.passportgamestudios.com) IMPORTANT: There must always be at least 1 card in the Voodoo pile! If there are not enough cards for everyone to draw, each player who can pull out an ingredient card does so, in turn order. Everyone else is off the hook! The purple potion is missing from the top ingredient card of the Voodoo pile. Leanne lays down a card that is also missing purple and the potion, and calls out “Voodoo!” First Oliver and then Nick must each pull the bottom card from the Voodoo pile and slide it under their own piles of ingredient cards. If you cannot find the right combination—either a card that has the missing ingredient of the right color, or a card that is missing the exact same combination—you may slide any card from your hand under your own pile of ingredient cards and replace it with the top card from your pile. You may do this as often as necessary. NOTE: You may never have more than 3 cards in your hand at once! END OF A ROUND A round is over as soon as a player has no cards left in his hand and in his own pile of ingredient cards. RECORDING POINTS Each ingredient card in your hand or in your own pile counts as 1 point. Points are recorded and carried over into the following rounds. After scoring, all ingredient cards are reshuffled and dealt out evenly as described above. Now the next round begins. END OF THE GAME The game is over after 3 rounds. The player with the fewest points wins! If there is a tie, all players with the fewest points win the game. GAME VARIATION Of course, you can also play more or fewer rounds!
