Information for Referees - Auckland Abroad Student Exchange Programme
Instructions for the academic referee: Please provide the University of Auckland
with an indication about this student’s academic ability and suitability for exchange. Let
us know how long you have known the student and in what capacity, and provide any
impressions you believe would be useful to the selection panel in considering the student
for an exchange. Your assessment may also be used in consideration of an Auckland
Abroad Scholarship or Travel Grant for this student. If you have any other information
that you feel would be valuable, do tell us.
Instructions for the character referee: This student is applying to The University of
Auckland’s academic exchange programme, Auckland Abroad. He or she hopes to study
at a partner university for one or two semesters and bring the credits back to their
Auckland degree. Your knowledge of the student is an integral part of our nomination
process. It would be helpful if you could provide the University of Auckland with
information about the student’s character, ability to live independently, capacity to
adjust to another culture, his or her interaction with other people, sense of
responsibility, etc. Let us know how long you have known the student and in what
capacity, and provide any impressions you believe would be useful to the selection panel
