Richard Bland Men’s Basketball Team Excel
Congratulations to Coach Chuck Moore and the Richard Bland College Men’s Basketball Team for winning the
NJCAA Division II National Championship, following a 64-53 victory over John Wood Community College on
Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Danville, Ill. It was the team’s second year of competition after the school
reinstated athletics in April 2013.
The Richard Bland Statesmen also won honors when Coach Chuck Moore was named the tournament’s most
outstanding coach, most outstanding player in Avery Ugba and two selections to the all-tournament team in
Tavon Mealy (Armstrong) and LeQuan Thomas.
Coach Moore also coaches the Squires Richmond 14U Team this season.
