Fundraising:
1. Fundraising for the team is encouraged with a log book record kept of fundraising
attendance to ensure fairness in final fundraising distribution. The fundraising Log
Book is kept by the team manager, with funds held by PCANT for final
distribution. Riders under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian in
attendance at any fundraising event.
2. If seeking sponsorship, team members are encouraged to seek sponsorship for
the whole team rather than the individual rider. If team sponsorship is not
possible then individual sponsorship is permitted. All sponsors must be declared
to the Team Manager and the PCANT Board in writing.
Please note that all approaches to sponsors must be approved in writing by
the PCANT Board prior to approaching the sponsor. This is designed to avoid
multiple requests being made to the same sponsor. It also prevents the
development of conflicts of interest in sponsors attracted.
A sponsorship prospectus is currently being developed by PCANT to assist team
members wishing to attract team sponsorship.
3. The whole team or individual members may also be eligible for grants to cover
costs incurred. If the obtaining of an individual’s grant precludes the team for
applying for the same grant the team grant will take precedence over the
individuals grant application. Any Grants must be notified to PCANT Board.
4. Parents or family members may substitute for riders at fundraising events, but if a
parent and rider both attend it is considered 1 share only.

PART B: CODE OF CONDUCT
RIDERS
1. Ride by the rules.
2. Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your Team Manager approach the official
during a break or after the competition.
3. Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately
distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any
sport.
4. Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team’s performance will benefit so
will you.
5. Be a good sport. Applaud all good efforts whether they are made by your team or the
opposition.
6. Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair
advantage of another competitor.
7. Cooperate with your coach, team-mates and opponents. Without them there would be no
competition.
8. Show respect to team coaches and managers and respect the decisions that they make.
9. Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches.
10. Respects the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability,
cultural background or religion.
PARENT/GUARDIANS
1. Remember that children participate in sport for their enjoyment.
2. Encourage children to participate, do not force them.
3. Focus on the child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
4. Encourage children always to play according to the rules and settle disagreements without
resorting to hostility or violence.
5. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
6. Remember that children learn by best example. Appreciate good performances and skillful
plays by all participants.
7. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
8. Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise.
9. Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your
child could not participate.
10. Show respect to team coaches and managers and respect the decisions that they make.
11. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender,
ability, cultural background or religion.
SPECTATORS
1. Respect the decisions of officials and teach young people to do the same.
2. Never ridicule or scold a young rider for making a mistake. Positive comments are
motivational.
3. Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by other spectators, coaches, officials
or riders.
4. Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
5. Do not use violence, harassment or abuse in any form (that is, do not use foul language,
sledge or harass riders, coaches, officials or other spectators)
6. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability,
cultural background or religion.
