My Grade
 Homework counts five points each week
 Tests and quizzes count fro 25 to 50 points
each week, with a few 100 point tests
along the way
 I DO NOT give you your grade, you will
earn it.
What do I do if I fail a test or quiz?
 You can retake the test or quiz when you
have provided me with evidence that you
have done additional preparation.
EVIDENCE??
 Additional preparation such as questions
and problems from the book that have not
been previously assigned
What if I am absent?
 It is your responsibility to see me for any
homework you may have missed
 It is your responsibility to arrange to make
up any test or quiz you may have missed
 All missing work will be counted as
incomplete-you have the responsibility to
complete all work
Grade Reports
 You will be getting detailed grade reports
at least two times each quarter
 The mid-term grade report must be signed
by your parent
 Incompletes count as zero points, so be
sure to make these up as soon as possible

What does the grade “I” mean?
 Incomplete work
 If you have earned an “I” at the end of the
quarter you have two weeks to turn in any
missing work.
 If you do this I will correct the work and you
will have earned the higher grade.
 If you do not do this the grade becomes an
“F”. ( I hate to even type that letter)
What do I do If I have finished my
math work for the day?
 You have two choices:
 Do other homework
 Read a book
 Please bring a book to class every day
Can I just sit and do nothing?
 You have two choices:
 Do other homework
 Read a book
 Please bring a book to class every day
Can I draw?
 You have two choices:
 Do other homework
 Read a book
 Please bring a book to class every day
Can I talk to a friend?
 You have two choices:
 Do other homework
 Read a book
 Please bring a book to class every day
What do I do if I do not understand
an assignment?
 Please ASK questions
 In class when you are working on the
assignment
 During Prime Time when you are working on
the assignment
 After school (when I am not coaching I will be
in my room until 3:50 most afternoons)
 Before school (When I am not on hall duty I
am in my room by 7:30 most mornings)

 They are used in the following cases:




Tardiness (Please be in your seat at the bell)
Excessive chatter
Late assignments
As collateral for calculator borrowing
 ( No punch given-place card with your name in the
calculator caddie slot that corresponds to the
calculator you borrowed. At the end of class
exchange calculator for your card)
