The Alif Institute (1) is a nonprofit, tax exempt, educational and cultural organization founded in 2004 with
the purpose of promoting the understanding and exchange of the arts and culture of Arabs and Arab
Americans. Alif Institute offers Arabic classes, presents a multitude of cultural activities including, but not
limited to, film festivals, art exhibits, concerts of renowned artists, and lectures of researchers and
authors, and, annually organizes the “Atlanta Arab Festival.” The institute and all of its events are open to
the general public.
The next Atlanta Arab Festival will be held on the weekend of April 28-29, 2012. This beautiful event is
designed to celebrate the Arab culture, to showcase Arab and Arab American heritage, and most
importantly to promote and enhance cultural exchange! The event draws a wide number of Americans
and Arab Americans. Last year, 2700 people attended the festival. In 2012, we plan to draw in a much
larger audience by introducing a wide array of new activities and performances, and by using a more
aggressive marketing approach.
We invite businesses, companies and other educational and cultural organizations to sponsor the event
by purchasing sponsorship plans in our information, cultural and educational booklet. The booklet will be
distributed to each person attending the event, and will be prepared in such a way as to serve as a useful
reference for local businesses. It will include a variety of interesting articles (e.g. cultural facts, recipes,
kids section) and clues for a treasure hunt activity. We also invite businesses, companies and other
educational and cultural organizations to sponsor the event by donating to the Atlanta Arab Festival raffle,
which has been a successful way to promote businesses’ products and services.
Your support is essential to ensure a successful event! We have listed below an indicative chart with
prices for sponsorship plans in the 5.5” x 8.5” booklet. We welcome any additional donations as well as
any items to be used for our raffle prizes and will recognize those donations in a special acknowledgment
section.

Businesses, companies and other educational and cultural organizations are also invited to offer their
support by renting an information table and/or booth during the event. Note that rental pricing includes
discounted rates for sponsorship plans in the festival booklet. Please see the Rental Agreement for
further information.
Please note that all payments and in-kind donations, made by businesses or individuals in the form of
sponsorship or contributions, to the Alif Institute will be acknowledged as tax-deductible.

Rental Agreement

Arrival / Break-down
All merchants and food providers will be expected to arrive by 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, to begin set-up. All
other businesses and organizations should arrive on premise no later than 9:30 a.m. Break-down will begin at 7
p.m. Please pack your materials overnight. Alif will not be responsible for any items left on the premises. On
Sunday, April 29, Merchants and food providers are expected to begin set-up by 10 a.m.; and all other
businesses and organizations should arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. Break-down will begin at 6 p.m.
Merchants & Food Providers
Merchant and Food Provider tents are a 10’ x 10’ space. Each tent will include 2 tables. Tents are available on
a first-come, first-serve basis. Booths A-G are reserved for the “Souk” or Market; and booths 1-9 are reserved
for Food Providers (see p5 for floor plan).
Food providers are responsible for collecting a fixed $6 meal cost in cash. Each food provider is permitted to
serve two dishes. We ask for your flexibility in preventing overlap in the dishes served by the different food
providers. Food providers are not permitted to sell any drinks or desserts at the festival.
Both Merchants and Food Providers keep 100% of profits made at the event.
Businesses & Organizations
Businesses and other organizations will receive two 2’ x 4’ tables. Information tables are available on a firstcome, first-serve basis. Tables I-V are reserved for businesses and organizations (see p5 for floor plan).

To Apply:
Please complete and return the attached application form together with payment in full before March 16, 2012.
Due to processing costs, including adjustments to floor plan arrangements, a $50 late fee will apply to any
application submitted after the referenced deadline.
Refund Policy:
If for any reason you need to withdraw from the event prior to March 31, 2012, a $50 processing fee will be
applied against your tent and/or information table rental.
There will be no refund for applicants that withdraw from the festival after March 31, 2012.
Please note that late applications are not guaranteed acceptance due to space limitations.
