What is Just Play?

What is Just Play?
Just Play is a national programme run by the FA supported by Mars to provide opportunities
for adults to play recreational football in their area, with no need for players to commit to
every week. The flexibility of these sessions allows players to play football around a busy
day to day lifestyle.
What is the aim?
Increase participation through creating recreational opportunities in Kent
Who would be interested in Just Play?
Individuals who:




have not played football for a while and want to get back into playing
have a very busy schedule and can’t commit to regular football
fancy a sociable, less serious way to play football
want to play football, but not for a team
What has the Kent FA done so far?
The Kent FA has helped set up....
-11 a side Mixed - 7 a side Mens -- 7 a side Womens - Futsal Mens -- Futsal Womens - Futsal
Mixed - Walking Football Mixed - Walking Football Mens - Veterans Football - Dads Football
How can I set up a Just Play centre?
Sessions are funded with money from the Just Play Fund.
The Kent FA typically assigns £500 to each session to get them up and running.
This funding can cover:
cost of equipment
facilities hire
coaching costs
training course costs
What else do I need to know?
Participants must be 16+ years old and not playing affiliated football
The aim is to get 20 regular participants to each session
Each centre must run for at least 1hr a week for 26 weeks
Players should be encouraged to attend 10 sessions within the 26 week project
