• The pilot had to coax the bomber along by
powering one sides engines.

•Weak
• And the plane had a reputation for frailty,
especially the wings.

•Difficulties and
misfortune
• Phil was a damn swell pilot dealing with
adversity with a calm and adaptive acceptance.
Crestfallen
•Very sad and
disappointed.
• Phil was crestfallen. He could not see Cecy
before they left.
