This application form must be sent to your State Swimming Association for verification by the Executive Officer or by the designated Coaching or
Development Officer.
Swimmers must have achieved times no more than two (2) years prior to the Coach’s attendance at a Silver Course or four (4) years after completion of a Silver Course.
Silver Performance Criteria Applications must be submitted to the supervising Silver Course Administrator (relevant State Swimming Association or ASCTA) within this
timeframe.
Time extensions may be granted for exceptional circumstances upon written request to Swimming Australia.
To gain Silver accreditation, a Coach must meet all the prerequisites and satisfy one of the following options.
Pre-requisites:
 hold a current Bronze accreditation
 hold a current Working with Children check
 be the Primary Coach of each Swimmer, who’s performance is claimed. ‘Primary Coach’ means that at least 85% of each Swimmer’s training program is directly
planned and supervised by the Coach for a period of at least 90 days prior to the competition in which the performance was achieved.
 have either attended a Silver course and satisfactorily completed the Assignment and Workbook or been deemed competent via an RCC process for the Silver theory
 coach two individual Swimmers who have achieved a qualifying time for the Australian Age Championships (long course) as detailed below:

 For each option claimed, the Coach must attend a National Championships with at least one (1) of these Swimmers (individual events only) in each of the disciplines
that are used to meet the criteria (e.g. if Swimmers performances are claimed from option 1 and 3 then the Coach needs to attend both events with at least one
Swimmer.
Options: (Please list the option and details in the matrix below.)
1. Coach at least four (4) individual Swimmers who have achieved any one or combination of the following criteria:
a) Achieved a Qualifying time for the Australian Age Championships (Long course) OR
b) Achieved a Qualifying time for the Australian Swimming Championships (Open/Long Course) OR
c) Qualified for the Open National Open Water Swimming Championships (10km only) OR
d) Swum in a Multi Class Final at the Australian Championships (Open/Long Course) from 2012 onwards.
2: Hold a current ‘Coaching Swimmers with Disability’ course qualification and either:
a) coached at least one (1) Swimmer selected to represent Australia at the IPC World Championships or the Paralympic Games OR
b) been the ‘Primary Coach’ of a Swimmer achieving an individual medal winning performance at the Deaflympics.
3: Hold a current ‘Coaching Open Water Swimmers’ course qualification and coached a Swimmer achieving a medal winning performance at the Open Australian
Open Water Championships in 10km events.
