Enterprise News 2016–2017 Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown JC-Learn | DLR County Winner JC- LEARN By Jack Manning, Johnnie Bell and Eamonn Flannery of Clonkeen College, Blackrock, Co. Dublin JC- Learn is a business set up by Transition Year students from Clonkeen College, Blackrock. They developed a web site, jclearn.ie, which provides study notes, past exam answers and advice forums for Junior Certificate students. “The ‘Student Enterprise Programme’ helped transform an early stage idea into a real business. The DLR County Final at the Royal Marine Hotel gave us experience of being interviewed by judges and confidence in public speaking. Crucially, the event allowed us to validate our business idea and receive positive feedback. Reaching the National Finals at Croke Park helped us to secure extra sales and media coverage. The prizes were a great motivator too! I couldn't recommend the Student Enterprise Programme more, thank you from all of us at JC-Learn!” 1,000 Local Students from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Schools Get Creative!
