Dutch investor, Ton van Dam is committed to the Atlanta real estate market. Ton is known around the world as an innovative and successful real estate professional. He was a founding partner in Multi Development of the Netherlands which was one of the largest privately held development companies in Europe with more than EUR $2 billion in annual revenues before its sale to Morgan Stanley. The Atlanta market and The Georgian/Frog were Mr. van Dam’s launch into American real estate investing. This was in 1997, when Ton purchased his first acreage at The Georgian. In 2000, Mr. van Dam purchased the Tom Fazio designed Frog Golf Club. The highly acclaimed Frog course on 170 acres is the anchor attraction of The Georgian master planned community. Mr. van Dam owns an additional 50 acres at The Georgian for residential development on The Frog course. Ton van Dam’s holdings in the U.S. have expanded to more than $200 million in American real estate. Mr. van Dam has long embraced the potential of real estate in Atlanta. In addition to The Frog, Ton’s Atlanta-area investments include the 85 town home White Oak at East Lake residential community in DeKalb County, as well as $10 million of various retail real estate investments. Ton’s vision of The Frog is coming to fruition starting with the opening of a new $2 million clubhouse in June, 2015, the launch of Heritage Pointe active adult community at The Frog with home builder partner Jim Chapman Communities, and the announcement of plans to build a $6 million boutique hotel on the course. “I have envisioned a hotel here from the beginning (1996), and now the vision is becoming reality,” Ton said.
