Page 1 of 6 (7/13/2017) Flappy Bird Game - Tutorial Solution Hour of Code From Dan Hubing – March 29, 2017 Level 1 Watch the video: Flappy Introduction (It’s important to have the kids watch this video. It explains quite a bit. The goal is to get Flappy up to the target, so keep clicking the mouse to have Flappy fly up, otherwise it hits the ground. (The game may freeze when flappy hits the ground. Close the game and restart.) Level 2 Must add the End Game at the bottom of “when flappy hits the ground”. Page 2 of 6 Level 3 The “target” moves at a different speed. Add the “Set speed” block to When Run to move the target. Then click to fly flappy into the target. Level 4 Very hard to get through the pipes. Don’t have the kids spend to much time on this level. It can be frustrating. Add the End Game block to the “when hit an obstacle”. Page 3 of 6 Level 5 I did score 1 point, that’s it on this level. ? Add the “score a point” to the “when pass obstacle” block. Also by adding the Play Point sound it can be more fun. Level 6 Here you control how far Flappy goes up by using the “flap a ? amount” block. (Tip: it’s easier in the game i f the amount is “very small”.) Add this block to the “When Click” block. Page 4 of 6 Level 7 Here I added a “Set Scene” to when run. In When Clicked: changed flap amount to very small and score a point. (The score a point then can count how many times I clicked.) Also added set scene to when hit an obstacle. Level 8 This level adds the “Set Scene and Set Player blocks”. I changed to the scene randomly when clicked. (Fun, right?) I also changed the player bird when an obstacle was hit. I also changed the flap amount to small. Page 5 of 6 Level 9 I set the the score to 100 when I hit an obstacle. I changed the scene and player randomly when passing through. I seem to have defaulted to change the flap amount to small to make the game easier. Level 10 Do anything in this last level. Four new blocks are available: Page 6 of 6
