Guide to Lodging Endeavour Mobility Grant
Applications
This document is designed as a general guide to assist in creating a project application for the 2017
round of Endeavour Mobility Grants in ISEO. It should be read in conjunction with:

All applications for Endeavour Mobility Grants are created in ISEO: the Department of Education and
Training’s online application and project management system.
ISEO has been enhanced since the 2016 application round.
As you make your selections, the system will customise the options available to your institution and
guide you through the relevant grant programme and questions.

When you log in to ISEO you will only see those programmes that are available to your institution
type. For example, VET providers will only see those programmes available to support VET
students.

ISEO will guide you to the most appropriate programme to apply for through a series of five
questions:

Round
ISEO is used for grant applications made under both Endeavour
Mobility Grants and New Colombo Plan so you will need to select
a round.

Global or Asia/Pacific

Qualification
VET, Undergraduate or Postgraduate.
NOTE: Higher Education will display for Global programmes
available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Based on the answers to the previous questions, ISEO will display
the programme(s) that your institution is eligible to apply for.

ISEO will not allow you to proceed through the project application if you have not completed all
mandatory fields, and an error message will appear.


Selecting the Appropriate Grant Programme
ISEO will guide you to the most appropriate programme based on your answer to five questions.
You must select a response from the options in drop-down boxes. ISEO will only offer those options that
are available based on your previous selection(s).
The following images are examples only – actual options will vary depending on your selections.

Entering Your Programme Details
You are required to enter some details about the field of study and location(s) before you can create
your project application.
You must select a response from the options in the drop-down boxes. ISEO will only offer those options
that are available based on your previous selection(s).
Once you are satisfied with your choices select Create application.
Your project application will be automatically assigned a project number and title. At this stage, the
project application is also automatically saved in ISEO.

Saving and Entering Information in Stages
Your project application was automatically saved when you selected Create Application. You may
choose to leave ISEO at this point and come back to the application to work on it later. To find an
application from the Home screen page select Manage Applications.
From Manage Applications you may add or edit information on any of the application tabs.
You may assign the project application to a registered user at your institution, view or print, and save.
Only ILOs may submit the application to the Department of Education and Training for assessment.

Entering Project Details
1. Application Status
The project application status is displayed at the top of the screen and is automatically updated by
ISEO.
2. Project Ranking
Initially, ISEO will automatically rank project applications based on the order in which they are
created. The ranking is greyed out during the initial application creation process. ILOs are the only
users who can rank project applications. ILOs can manually change the ranking of project
applications via the Manage applications option at any time between creating the project
application and up until the closing date.
3. Project description (maximum 200 words):
A general project description of up to 200 words is required for all projects.

This field does not contribute to the project’s weighted score. It is intended to provide background
information to help assessors understand the nature of your project proposal.
Only include information that describes the nature of the Project. Please avoid using jargon or
specialist/technical language.
4. Qualification level:
More than one box may be selected so please indicate all qualification levels that are relevant to the
project. Depending on the programme you will see a combination of the choices below:
 Bachelor Degree
 Graduate Diploma
 Graduate Certificate
 Bachelor Honours Degree
 Masters Degree by Coursework
 Graduate Diploma
 Masters Degree Extended
 Masters Degree by Research

5. Study Experience:
More than one box may be selected so please indicate all study experiences that are relevant to the
project. Depending on the programme you will see a combination of the choices below:

6. Does the study experience attract credit or is it a mandatory course requirement? [Yes/No]
All projects must be for Academic Credit or a mandatory component of the course as outlined in the
2017 Endeavour Mobility Guidelines.
7. Project partner(s)
Enter the name(s) of any other institution(s) or organisations who are partnering in this project.
8. Project Travel Dates
Travel must take place between 1 January 2017 and the project completion date:

Entering Your Project Finances
Click on the Finances tab and select edit. ISEO will calculate the amount of funding based on the answers
you provide. The maximum number of outgoing or incoming students is 10.

Entering the Project Selection Criteria
For projects that require responses to Selection Criteria, click on the Selection criteria tab.
ISEO will display the criteria that are applicable to the programme. Enter the relevant text and select

Additional Selection Criteria
The Asia Postgrad and Asia VET programmes allow for a language support grant and additional
information will be required to support your project application.
Responses to this criterion do not contribute to the project’s overall score. Responses are considered
solely for the purpose of determining eligibility for language support grants.

ILO to Check Ranking and Details
Before submitting the application into ISEO the ILO should check to ensure that all details are correct
and the project has been ranked correctly. Note: ILOs are unable to change the ranking of
applications once the 2017 funding round has closed on 10 June 2016.
To change the ranking select Manage Applications and select a round year and programme from the
drop-down menus. This will display those applications in the same programme for ranking
Select Rank applications and adjust the rankings and select Save.

Submitting your Application
Once the ILO is satisfied that the project application details are correct, open each application through
Manage Applications, and selected Submit. You will be taken to the Declarations tab and required to
affirm the declarations by selecting the Yes button.
Once a project application has been submitted on ISEO, you may not change any of the details other
than the ranking. If you need to change project details after submitting, please contact the Student
Mobility Team at [email protected] and request an ISEO application status change.
No changes may be made to project applications once the 2017 funding round closes on 10 June 2016.
