Association Croquet
This complex traditional game has been around longer than tennis. It’s a balance of skill and strategy
a bit like a game of fresh air chess on grass.
Golf Croquet
A shorter game that’s only been around about 15 years that is growing in popularity and frequently
played in tournaments. A good simple social and aggressive game where all players stay together on
the lawn.
Aussie Croquet
The simple popular garden croquet game that people have played in their backyards for yonks.
Ricochet
The fun new game on the block. Very similar strategy-wise to Association Croquet but is readily
understood and played by beginners.
Regular Playing Days
Just turn up on Saturdays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays to play other
ECC members. Games usually commence at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. There is also sometimes a game
commencing at 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoons.
Monthly BBQ
On the first Saturday of each month ECC members enjoy a casual (BYO) BBQ
lunch, usually followed by a fun mini-tournament of short timed games swapping partners and
opponents drawn out of a hat.
Twilight Croquet
During Daylight Savings we play on occasional evenings commencing with
games at 3:00 pm. We have a fish & chips tea from about 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Then some play cards
and others have another game of croquet as the sun sets over Hobson’s Bay.
Play Whenever You Like
Members can become part-owner of the lawns 24/7 by paying a
refundable $10 key deposit. You get a club key and can organise a game or simply practice whenever
you feel like it, providing the lawns are not being attended to. Note: A $5 green fee is payable each
day that you play (on club days or other days). This helps with the costly upkeep of the lawns. You
can bring along friends to play with you. For full members their mates’ rates green fee is $10. This
is limited to six visits per person per year. After six visits a visitor would be expected to join the club.
Enjoy the ambience
We have a comfortable and functional clubhouse and sheltered
outdoor area in a wonderful location beside the sea. Make it your own. Bring along your lunch on
playing days. Warm something up in the microwave sandwich press or mini oven-grill. Enjoy the big
gas BBQ on special occasions. Have a tea, coffee, or glass of wine/beer whenever you feel the magic.

The Cost
Trial membership (for 3 months) is available for $50.
Thereafter $185p gives you 12 months full membership.
