Box 535 Princeton Junction, New Jersey 08550 Phone: (609) 716-5050 Ext. 7317 Email: [email protected] Dear Seniors and Parents/Guardians of the WWP South Class of 2014: We would like to invite you to participate in our local scholarship program. This program awards monetary scholarships to graduating seniors to help assist them in furthering their post-secondary education. Attached is this year’s scholarship booklet. Some of these scholarships utilize our scholarship common application and some organizations utilize their own application. These specific applications are embedded in this document and hard copies are also available in the guidance office. For common application scholarships, students should print and complete the scholarship common application form and checklist (pages 20-24) and return it to the guidance office by April 21, 2014. Please note that some of the scholarships that have individual application forms also have earlier deadlines and specific instructions. Selection criteria vary by award and may be based on any or all of the following: merit, need, purpose, achievement and contribution to school and community. Therefore, all students are encouraged to apply. Selection criteria are formulated by the participating organizations, not by school personnel. The amounts of the awards range from one hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Part II of the common application relating to financial information will be kept confidential. If you are NOT applying for need based scholarships it is not necessary to complete Part II. Part I of the application, along with the student’s academic record (grades, GPA, SAT scores), will be provided to the high school scholarship committee. This common application form must be returned no later than 3:00 p.m. on April 21, 2014 to Mrs. Morgan in the guidance office. No applications will be accepted after that date. This procedure has been designed to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Should you have any questions regarding this process, we would be most happy to assist you.
