Required for all ages…
GOWN – All age groups will model a gown. Contestants in Baby – Young may wear a long or short gown, all other
age groups must wear a long gown. Gown should be age appropriate, showing your personality and flattering to you.
Optional for all ages…
PHOTOGENIC – Photos should be age appropriate and may be natural or slightly retouched. Pictures may be black
& white or color and should be no larger than 8x10 in size. Headshots are recommended, without distractions.
Photos should reflect contestant’s photogenic potential. Submit photos at registration and enter as many as you like.
If multiple photos are entered, photo with the highest score will be used for the age division award.

Junior and Miss age divisions…
INTERVIEW – contestants should dress professionally; attire may be a dress, pantsuit, or business suit. Contestants
will have a private four minute interview with the judge’s panel. Interview will give the judges an opportunity to get
to know the contestant. Contestants should showcase their ability to interact with the public as a
titleholder. Contestants may submit a fact sheet with additional information with their entry form. Interviews will
be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Fishersville Hampton, starting at 6:00PM. Exact interview times will be sent
prior to the pageant.
CASUAL WEAR – Casual wear should be a stylish outfit out of the closet, fashionable, showing contestants style and
personality (no jeans or sweats). This will be modeled first on pageant day!

Contestants must be a resident / attend school in Staunton, Waynesboro or Augusta County.
Valid certification of age or residency may be required.
The decision of the judges is final.
This pageant does not issue individual score sheets.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated by contestants, parents or others in attendance. Please be
aware that any rude or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in immediate disqualification and dismissal
from the pageant.
6. Contestants must have never been married nor had children.
7. Parents have the right to move their daughter up one age division if she is within six months of her
birthday making her eligible for that group.
8. The winner of the Miss division may not enter another fair pageant during her year as Miss ACF.
9. Previous winners may compete again after they sit out one year, or move up to the next age
division. Miss division winners may compete again for the title, but they must sit out one year and meet
all other requirements.
10. Miss Augusta County Fair will receive a $1000 scholarship in lieu of attending the VAF pageant. This
pageant does not advance to the VAF state pageant!
11. Pre-Teen Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Queens will be required to be available during the fair week for
various functions and responsibilities. If they are unable to fulfill their duties and responsibilities, the
first runners-up will become Queen.
12. Junior Miss and Miss Contestants will have a private four minute interview with the judges starting at
6:00PM on Friday, July 28th at the Fishersville Hampton. Exact times will be sent in advance!
13. ALL Augusta County Fair Queens will be required to sign a contract with the fair board outlining our
expectations for the year as a Queen.
14. Dressing rooms open by 10:00AM on the day of the pageant. Please bring extension cords if needed!
15. ALL Augusta County Fair Queens will be required to do 30 hours of community service in Augusta
County throughout her year of service. Much of this can be achieved at ACF events!

17. I hereby release Kirk Propst, emcees, staff, judges, and the Augusta County Fair from any responsibility
or liability due to the loss of personal property, illness, stolen/lost items or accident that may occur
before, during or after this pageant.

19. No checks accepted after July 15, 2017. Money orders ONLY! You may pay in cash at the fair office
in Verona when office personnel are available. Please have exact change. Feel free to call the fair
office at 245-5627 to make sure someone is available.
