PROTREE: WORKING WITH NATURE
In nature, trees coexist with pests
and diseases. Changes in tree
populations are part of nature and
happen as new threats emerge. The
PROTREE project is exploring how
natural processes can be harnessed
to foster greater resilience among
trees and woodlands.
Computer Game
• Commissioned from Hyper Luminal Games
• Survival strategy game
• Player controls variables that will influence
resilience to pests and diseases
• Deployed at events within a mobile unit
• Available online (mobile…)
Players create a
forested
landscape that is
viewed from
above
Strategy can
be changed
during cycles
of play
Players will also see
various data screens
that will build their
knowledge and
understanding
Success in the game will
be a combination of
measures of forest
health and the
profitability of timber
production
What Next?
