Warm up game
1. Man to man marking, each player has a tail (vest hanging out the back). Players pass
(throw) the ball to each other using their hands. A player is only allowed to take 3
steps when holding the ball in their hands. When the man you are marking is in
possession of the ball you can win the ball by stealing his vest. The ball can also be
won by intercepting a pass. 5 passes is a goal.
2. Same rules as above except you score a goal by heading the ball past the goalkeeper
and between the two cones in the middle. You can only head the ball from a pass and
you can score either side of the goal.
3. Play the original game but instead of passing with hand you pass with feet like in
normal soccer.
What sort of movement do we need to use to stop our opponent from taking our vest?
What sort of movement should we do off the ball and how do we disguise this movement so
that our direct opponent is unaware of our positioning
Game 1
Possession game with four players outside
Reds play with reds and blue play with blue
1 point if you switch the play from one side to the other using at least one player in the
middle
What movements from the warm up can we take in to this game?
How do we discuss width, depth?
How should the players on the side move?
Game 2
2v2 in the middle with four jokers on the outside that play with the team in possession
If the reds have possession the two players in the middle must always take up a position is
diagonal to each other
Players on the outside can pass the ball to each other
What movement is expected of the players on the outside
What must the two players in the middle be aware of when they are in possession?
How should the players on the outside and inside move in relation to each other when in
possession?
.
Game 3
Game 6v6 + 2 goalkeepers + jokers out wide
Before scoring a goal you must switch the play from one side to the other.
Encourage the players to switch play as much as possible until a space to attack opens up
Encourage them to use the goalkeeper to switch the play
